Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, 🪷 nahida 00:32, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Nahida! Hope your day is going well.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for welcoming me to Wikipedia! It is true that it's a bit overwhelming but I've been learning how to use the site and it's features, and the links you gave me are very useful for someone like me who just joined. If you don't mind, I have a question concerning conflict of interest - I completely understand that I can't edit a page to anything that is related to me, like family members/friends/companies/etc but does "interest" include things such as games or hyperfixations, past and/or present and if so is it okay to edit in a neutral bias?
Thanks, Cubetopia (talk) 01:26, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great question! Interests are perfectly fine as long as you don't write in a biased tone and follow the other guidelines. If you keep it neutral and aren't directly connected, you should be fine. 🪷 nahida 01:29, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
