Regarding your pattern of reversions[edit]

I’ve looked over your past edits and the criticisms directed at you on your Talk page and have noticed a pattern: you often improperly revert edits without reasonable explanation (or make disputed inclusions) without providing well-founded, substantive explanations.

You can’t revert people’s edits without explanation and then demand that they not deviate from the status quo (and argue there is contestation) when YOU are the sole user contesting the changes and refusing to provide ANY reasons for the contestation. Can you understand how ridiculous that makes you look?

You’re basically saying, “Hey, no changes from the status quo since there is contestation. By the way, I’m the sole contesting individual and I refuse to offer any reasons for my contestation.”

You've now reverted my edit of the diploma image MULTIPLE times without offering a SINGLE substantive reason for your opposition to it. It's difficult to take you seriously or engage with you in good faith when you conduct yourself like this.Anonymous345123 (talk) 05:04, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Baseless, bad faith accusations of sockpuppetry that appear to be a tactic to harass[edit]

I've taken note of your baseless and bad faith accusation of sockpuppetry towards me. I consider this to be an improper attempt at trying to cause annoyance/harass. Please refrain from such acts going forward.Anonymous345123 (talk) 04:07, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting[edit]

@Filetime:

You revert other people's edits without any explanation or arguments; and yet you expect others to not "deviate from the status quo." Feel free to offer substantive reasons (like I have) as to why the status quo should be maintained then.

I've given you my reasons, all of which are perfectly reasonable.

1. The picture of Suffolk Law's diploma is visibly warped (not flat).

2. The picture of Suffolk Law's diploma is of notably low quality.

3. The picture is clearly “flashed” by a camera.

4. The Columbia Law School diploma picture is of significantly higher quality and lacks all the defects mentioned above.

5. Columbia Law School's adoption of the JD over the LLB is expressly referenced in the article and is therefore arguably more relevant.

The only reason I could see for any reasonable person opposing this edit is bias. I see you're affiliated with Massachusetts? (Again, feel free to present cogent arguments as to why the Suffolk Law diploma should be remain in the face of the reasons I've set forth.

(If you are affiliated with Suffolk Law in any way, you need to divulge such biases if they are the basis for the diploma picture edits. I see that you've since removed mention of your Massachusetts affiliation.)

Anonymous345123 (talk) 03:48, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting[edit]

Please A) do not add material which was challenged without providing a reason for doing (unless it was obvious vandalism); B) specifically, do not ever do this with a direct revert (as that can be construed as being somewhat rude, since unexplained reverts are usually only warranted for obvious vandalism...). On top of that, please see WP:ONUS for the criterion which needs to be met for disputed content to be included. Thanks, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 17:08, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@RandomCanadian: please see WP:CYCLE. For a controversial edit, please build consensus on talk. Filetime (talk) 17:11, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As I've explained, WP:ONUS is on those seeking inclusion of disputed material (and I do not see a previous consensus for this on the talk page). On top of that, you still have not provided a reason why you think this should be included. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 17:16, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Higher Ed endowments[edit]

We seem to have a misunderstanding. Please look at the table again. It is sortable. Berry College is way down the list. The data for the endowments are from NACUBO. I'd be glad to discuss further or help out. With best wishes, --Smokefoot (talk) 04:03, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Xochitl Gonzalez has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

One book authored in 2022 and multiple promotional book review articles are not notable and should not have a Wikipedia page.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest[edit]

I've looked at your edit history and you seem to have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest with your attachment to Brown University. Scrubbing the backgrounds of terrible people to make them more presentable is a NPOV violation and I'll escalate it further, but for the time being I'd suggest taking it easy on stanning the paid shills.

You reverted my edit to Ashish Jha and said I could reinstate the edit if I included all the corporate sponsors - which I did - and then you reverted the page again anyway.

Have fun with what comes next.

TheNewMinistry (talk) 02:57, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Premeditated Chaos: I wanted to bring this to your attention given your past exchange with User:TheNewMinistry about WP:NOPA and WP:CIVIL. Filetime (talk) 21:05, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How is telling you to stop moving the goalposts because you're not getting what you want a "personal attack". I made a good faith edit, you asked me to correct it, I did - and you reverted it for a second time. That's unacceptable. TheNewMinistry (talk) 21:10, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of y'all are coming out of this covered in glory. Both of you stop with the slow-motion edit warring - nobody's crossed 3RR, but that doesn't mean it's not an edit war. Have a conversation about it on a talk page instead of sniping at each other in the edit summaries. Filetime, TNM has a point in that he did do what you asked but you reverted again without discussion, which isn't in the spirit of collaboration. TNM, your rhetoric here is a little close to the line of incivility and it would perhaps facilitate cooperation if you didn't make vaguely-ominous statements like "have fun with what comes next." Since this is both COVID and BLP related, please remember that there are discretionary sanctions active in both areas. ♠PMC(talk) 07:03, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can confirm that this user has demonstrated editing behavior on university pages (including pages beyond Brown University itself) that violates aspects of NPOV. The user's connection to Brown University in Rhode Island should be investigated further. 2603:7000:2201:2A2F:E8BE:198D:B3C9:8F00 (talk) 02:21, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DS alert for COVID & BLP[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in COVID-19, broadly construed.

I'm giving both of these alerts to both of you, with an identical message. What they mean is that I'm making you both "officially" aware that there are special editing rules for BLPs and COVID-related topics. If you get disruptive in the BLP or COVID topic areas, you can be sanctioned by an admin. This message is not a sanction in and of itself. I hate babysitting, so I intend to wander away from both of your talk pages and the article in question and not intervene further unless I absolutely have to, so if y'all could talk it out or use the appropriate dispute resolution processes, that'd be great. ♠PMC(talk) 07:28, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

School of Public Health[edit]

Please note that disambiguation pages like School of Public Health are meant to help readers find a specific existing article quickly and easily. For that reason, they have guidelines that are different from articles. From the Wikipedia:Disambiguation dos and don'ts you should:

  • Only list articles that readers might reasonably be looking for
  • Use short sentence fragment descriptions, with no punctuation at the end
  • Use exactly one navigable link ("blue link") in each entry that mentions the title being disambiguated
  • Only add a "red link" if used in existing articles, and include a "blue link" to an appropriate article
  • Do not pipe links (unless style requires it) – keep the full title of the article visible
  • Do not insert external links or references - Wikipedia is not a business directory

July 2023[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ElKevbo (talk) 18:28, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Juris Doctor: a warning[edit]

Instead of providing reasons for your reverts at Juris Doctor, i.e. for preferring one diploma image over another, you have responded on the talkpage to Anonymous345123's detailed reasons for preferring the Columbia Law School diploma simply by calling them a sockpuppet. You have given no reasons whatsoever to do with image quality or the like. This is very bad talkpage manners, especially combined with continued edit warring. Technicalities such as "Reverting to status quo" in edit summaries don't cut it. And as for your argument in another edit summary that "Contested changes to status quo require talk page consensus" — 1), no, they don't necessarily, and 2), several users have now agreed with Anonymous on talk that the Columbia Law School diploma looks better, while nobody has opined that the Suffolk Law diploma looks better, so consensus is actually against you. Don't revert again, and conduct yourself more reasonably on the talkpage, or you will be blocked, at a minimum from the article Juris Doctor. Bishonen | tålk 15:40, 15 July 2023 (UTC).[reply]
