Speedy deletion nomination of The 5 Big Lies About American Business
[edit]Hello LEvalyn,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The 5 Big Lies About American Business for deletion, because it's a redirect from an article title to a namespace that's not for articles.
If you don't want The 5 Big Lies About American Business to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

If that doesn’t work or you have questions, feel free to tell me a little bit more about the edit you’d like to see made and maybe I can help. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 15:51, 17 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Atrushlanta (02:34, 29 March 2025)
[edit]Hello, How do I add to an article based on my own personal knowledge and experience? Thanks,
Atrushlanta --Atrushlanta (talk) 02:34, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Atrushlanta, and welcome to Wikipedia! It is always valuable to have knowledgeable and experienced people contribute to Wikipedia. One of the biggest principles of Wikipedia is that all the information in an article should be verifiable. To be able to contribute successfully to an article, therefore, you should find the best published information on the topic. Often, having experience in the are means you know exactly which book is the best, or who the experts in the area are, so you can save time on research. Once you've gotten a good source of information, you can summarize it (with citations) to add to an article. Let me know if you have any further questions as you work, and happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 00:08, 30 March 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello mentor!! Harish here. Can you walk me through how to create a Wikipedia page for someone? Thanks in advance. --Harish karthikk (talk) 05:49, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Harish karthikk, and welcome to Wikipedia! If you mean you want to make a wikipedia article on behalf of someone else, you should read our guidance about conflicts of interest. It is especially important to disclose if you are being paid to edit. If you just want to make a page about someone, you should read our criteria about what kinds of biographies should be on Wikipedia. Regardless, I suggest reading WP:YFA and WP:BACKWARD for advice on how to approach article writing. When you're ready, this wizard can help you get started making an article. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 21:57, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, how do I make research on my project work titled: Development of Production Rate Optimization Model in Plastic Industry. --Neheemarsh (talk) 14:47, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Neheemarsh, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, but on Wikipedia it is considered a conflict of interest to write or edit an article about yourself, and it is strongly discouraged. (See also WP:AUTOBIO.) That applies to promoting your work, too. However, if you are an expert in a particular topic, Wikipedia always values the expertise of specialists in improving our existing articles on relevant topics, such as plastics industry. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 22:05, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
Question from KennedyRose (18:10, 17 April 2025)
[edit]Hi! I have been trying to get an article published, but it has now been rejected fro not having secondary sources which is simply not true. It also says that it reads as more of an advertisement, do you have any tips on how to no make my article seem that way. --KennedyRose (talk) 18:10, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello KennedyRose, and welcome to Wikipedia! Sorry to hear you're having a frustrating time with your first article -- this kind of thing is why we suggest that newcomers should start out by improving existing articles, since it can take quite a while to get comfortable with Wikipedia's norms... especially the very boring and dry "encyclopedic tone" that is preferred for the writing style here.
- Looking at Draft:Hina Mural ( Halawa View Apartments ), it looks like the first reviewer didn't say there were no secondary sources, just that there weren't enough of them focused on the mural for them to be convinced there should be an article. It looks like the most recent reviewer isn't as concerned about the sources, just the writing style.
- To address that, my advice is to make the article substantially shorter, and focus on having a citation for each individual sentence. You can also try looking at some existing articles for inspiration. Wikipedia has relatively few articles on murals -- Well Hung Lover was the only example I could find after a quick search, and you can see it's a much shorter and simpler article. You could also take inspiration from some Good Articles on paintings, such as A Boy with a Flying Squirrel and Symphony in White, No. 1.
- Another approach would be to change your focus entirely, either by adding a brief mention of the mural to a relevant existing article like Hōkūleʻa#Malama Honua (worldwide voyage) (2014–2017), or by making an article about the artist overall and including the mural as just one section.
- I hope that is helpful -- let me know if you have any questions, or run into any difficulties. Happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 22:48, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

- Hello Sunagurol2, and welcome to Wikipedia! Here, renaming a page is called "moving" it. It looks like there's been some disagreement about what this article should be titled, so I started an official discussion about it on the article's Talk page. It would be helpful if you would read WP:TITLEFORMAT, especially WP:TITLETM, and then give a brief comment (1 sentence is enough!) at that article about what you think the best format of the title could be. Also, if you work for this company, you should read our guidelines about conflicts of interest, and especially make sure you have disclosed the connection somewhere. Let me know if you have any questions. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 04:39, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit]id like to add a portion to an already existing topic for a project im working on how do i add a section --Twhite2003 (talk) 20:42, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Twhite2003, and welcome to Wikipedia! Expanding an existing article is a great way to get started. If you want to add a new section, click the link that says
Edit
in the top-left of the page. That should let you type anywhere in the article. Then you just need to write a name for your section, and change it to be a "heading" instead of a "paragraph". Here are links to more detailed instructions on how to do that, depending on how you're editing Wikipedia: in the Visual Editor, or in the source editor. You can practice the formatting by making test edits in your sandbox. Let me know if you have any questions as you work, and happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 04:44, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

WikiCup 2025 May newsletter
[edit]The second round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 28 April at 23:59 UTC. To reiterate what we said in the previous newsletter, we are no longer disqualifying contestants based on how many points (now known as round points) they received. Instead, the contestants with the highest round-point totals now receive tournament points at the end of each round. These tournament points are carried over between rounds, and can only be earned if a competitor is among the top 16 round-point scorers at the end of each round. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned.
Round 2 was quite competitive. Four contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and eight scored more than 500 points (including one who has withdrawn). The following competitors scored at least 800 points:
BeanieFan11 (submissions) with 1,233 round points from 24 good articles, 28 Did you know articles, and one In the news nomination, mainly about athletes and politicians
Thebiguglyalien (submissions) with 1,127 round points, almost entirely from two high-multiplier featured articles on Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) and Grace Coolidge, in addition to two GAs and two reviews
History6042 (submissions) with 1,088 round points from four featured lists about Michelin-starred restaurants, nine good articles and a good topic mostly on Olympic-related subjects, seven ITN articles, and dozens of reviews
Gog the Mild (submissions) with 1,085 round points from three FAs, one GA, and four DYKs on military history, as well as 18 reviews
Arconning (submissions) with 887 round points, mostly from four FLs, six GAs, and seven DYKs on Olympic topics, along with more than two dozen reviews
In addition, we would like to recognize Generalissima (submissions) for her efforts; she scored 801 round points but withdrew before the end of the round.
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 13 featured articles, 20 featured lists, 4 featured-topic articles, 138 good articles, 7 good-topic articles, and more than 100 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 19 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 300 reviews.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Articles for Creation backlog drive
[edit]
Hello LEvalyn:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Michael K.Owino (06:40, 20 May 2025)
[edit]Hello .Im new here Im about to create a page that I like to publish about my work as artist , author and musician .My first atemt was rejected how can I have someone to look over if everything is right --Michael K.Owino (talk) 06:40, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Michael K.Owino, and welcome to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, Wikipedia strongly discourages writing an article about yourself. You have a clear conflict of interest, and it will be extremely hard (often impossible) for you to write an article that meets our guidelines. Wikipedia recommends that you focus on developing your career directly, and when you succeed, someone else will eventually write an article about you. To give some technical guidance though, it looks like you got a warning about using your Userpage to write an article; as that warning says, your Userpage shouldn't have any article-like content on it. (You can see mine for an example of what they are supposed to have on them.) if you want to try writing an article anyway, the Wikipedia:Article wizard will help. Wikipedia is always happy to have new editors, so you could try writing about other topics that interest you, or improve our articles on your main inspirations. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 21:34, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you very much Everlyn, for clarification . Michael K.Owino (talk) 06:28, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
Hi, respectfully I disagree with your acceptance of this. As you noted, this is completely AI, promotional, and unreferenced, all three of which are reasons to decline, even if the topic does display notability. Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 04:20, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- I definitely see the flaws in the article, but I stand by an accept; the article seems harmless in its current state and has better than 50/50 odds at AfD. Although a COI is likely the language itself is not promotional; although an LLM or machine translation may have been involved, that COI reduces the likelihood of inaccuracy (and I did some spot fact-checks that were fine); and sources exist, including a high quality scholarly source. To my eye, this is the rare case where a COI editor has written something worth having, and they shouldn't be thrown back into AfC purgatory. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 04:42, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- AfC criteria states,
If what is written in the submission meets the notability guidelines, but the submission lacks references to evidence this, then the underlying issue is inadequate verification and the submission should be declined for that reason.
Additionally, I find it very worrying that the original creator has not disclosed their COI yet, which is against Wikipedia terms of use. Promotional tone -lorgean theatre aimed to reinterpret and personalize the traditional theatre institution
,To foster intimacy and participation,
,It was praised for its originality, intimacy, and role in reshaping the relationship between public and private space in artistic practice.
Sure, some of these might be verifiable, but it's promotional, and so far uncited, so. - As a side note, I find it quite funny that we were reviewing at the same time, and my helper script was able to send the "declined" notice but yours beat me to the review. I would also like you to know that while I disagree with you, in the end the issues are really with the content, and I respect you as an editor (congrats on the recent (and all your) GAs, BTW!). Best, GoldRomean (talk) 13:24, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- AfC criteria states,
- Just my 2p (no view on the promotional aspects), but I think we should delete clearly AI material as a general rule on a copyvio basis unless we do the diligence to ensure no copyvio has occurred. — ImaginesTigers (talk) 17:38, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi GoldRomean, thank you for the kind words. I think we’re just having a friendly disagreement here about a situation where multiple actions would be justified. I appreciate you taking on the thankless task of AfC reviewing, and your concern for the pillars of verifiability and neutrality. Regarding the COI first, the user hasn’t made any content edits since being informed of our COI policies so I don’t think they’ve crossed a red line yet. Regarding promotional tone, I simply disagree that the quoted statements are promotional. I consider them verified by the source I read, and a neutral summary of what is actually interesting about the theatre. Regarding lack of sources, I think we hit a weird edge case because I removed the sources during my review when the links were broken— it seems cold to delete references, find alternative references without adding them, and then decline as unreferenced! (Our conflicting helper scripts are also a very funny edge case! Though I think that’s just straightforwardly my fault for not marking the article “under review” when I started working on it.)
- I think a decline for WP:V would have been justifiable since AfC reviewers are not obligated to do a bunch of our own research or work on the articles, but after taking the time to research the topic I was satisfied that it was in fact accurate and notable and thought the article would be better off improving in mainspace. It’s always permissible to remove uncited content and require a source for its restoration if you’re concerned about the article. A stubbification stage would be in line with the “improve in mainspace” editing which I felt was the appropriate next step for this article. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 20:27, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

Great work on Gothic related articles
[edit]Well done on getting Ann Radcliffe and Bungay Castle to GA status! Amazing work and dedication to these pages, especially for all of us fans of Gothic literature. I especially love the BC artcle, love to see more obscure works being noticed, same with Hubert de Sevrac. These novels deserve not to be forgotten. Keep up the great work. Michael0986 (talk) 23:01, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's so kind! I've appreciated seeing your contributions too, on all the Gothic articles I'm watching :) Lately you've been crushing it with identifying specific publication dates for these works! Which reminds me, are you aware of this bibliography? It will often have the date & location of advertisements and reviews for 18thC books, which can save a lot of searching time. You might find it handy! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 03:44, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the nice words, and the link. No, I wasn't aware of it. I do love searching for publication dates, not sure why. I know they aren't always the earliest dates, because British archives & Newspapers.com only have a a certain amount of newspapers. "Published today" can sometimes be listed a month after a novel was published, so I'm always careful to research it thoroughly before editing publication dates. I've been working on Zofloya lately, trying to get some interest in the article, adding to the lead/controversies, and the often hilarious contemporary reviews it received. If you get time someday, I would much appreciate your contribution to it. Michael0986 (talk) 23:31, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
Hello How can I update my bio --Aroma042 (talk) 15:45, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Aroma042, and welcome to Wikipedia! I’m making a guess here, but if you want to edit your user page, you can click on your username just about anywhere you see it (or go here) and you’ll be prompted to create a new page, which is where people often put the equivalent of a “bio”. Be careful not to provide too much personally identifying information!! As an example, you can take a look at my user page. Let me know if you have further questions, and happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 19:55, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello
- Please how do I attach picture on my boi Aroma042 (talk) 04:57, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Aroma042, it looks like you're using your user page to write a wiki article about yourself, rather than the more informal kind of bio that editors usually use to introduce themselves to other Wikipedians. You should probably read our guidelines at WP:AUTOBIO. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 03:41, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
- help me how can I write the bio that editors usually use to introduce themselves to other Wikipedians. Aroma042 (talk) 09:41, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Aroma042, sorry for the slow response! On a technical level, writing a normal user page bio involves the same tools you have already used. What would make it "fit in" with Wikipedia would be writing different kinds of things / in a. different style. If you look at my user page, you may notice that it is in the first person and a little brief. I don't say a lot about myself directly (I mostly use userboxes) but you could write something like
Hi, I'm Ude Obasi Mathias. I'm from Aninri in Nigeria. Aroma042 is my stage name (I'm a singer)
and maybe mention any topics you are interested in writing about. In general, when you're on Wikipedia you can click people's user names to see their user pages -- this is a good way to get to know them a little and get to know what people put in their bios. But, it is also not required to have anything at all in your bio. Happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 04:13, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for your civil responses and careful reasoning in regards to our Lorgean theatre dispute; while I still can't say I completely agree with you, thanks for taking the time to research the theatre to establish notability and the availability of sources. In the end, it's really quite a silly matter that doesn't affect much, so I'll just end the conversation here. Thanks for working to review AfC articles and I hope we cross paths again in the future. Question from TheWordMechanic (03:16, 27 May 2025)
[edit]Hello! How are you? I wanted to ask how you detect which articles have errors or points of improvement. Like do you just randomly open articles or is there a more efficient way? Thank you. --TheWordMechanic (talk) 03:16, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello TheWordMechanic, and welcome to Wikipedia! I think the answer to your question depends on whether I'm looking for articles where someone else has already made a note of something that needs improvement, or if I am trying to be the first one to spot the problem. Many articles have already been tagged with maintenance templates by other editors to identify specific areas of concern, and it's possible to browse tagged articles in a lot of ways. I prefer to look through the tagged articles associated with WikiProjects that interest me, like this cleanup listing for the Books wikiproject. It's also possible to look at all the articles that have been tagged with a particular problem, like this list of articles missing a "lead" section. If you have specific areas of interest, I can help you find the right cleanup listings. As for articles that haven't been tagged: I think people look through new pages, pages that are C-class or lower in a specific WikiProject's quality assessment, or just random browsing. I hope that answers your question, let me know if I can be more help and happy editing! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 03:37, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13, partly due to me having hayfever during that period and not wanting to run it throughout July or August in the hotter summer and will be run then unless multiple editors object. There is currently $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. As 250 countries and entities is too much to patrol, entries will be by user, but there is $500 going into prizes for editors covering the most countries. Sign up if interested! ♦ Dr. Blofeld

Carolina Gainza article for deletion
[edit]HI and thanks for being part of the WP:ELIT. We really appreciate your wisdom in editing. Could you look at the article, Carolina Gainza, which I translated from the Spanish, https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolina_Gainza, and help us determine whether it should be saved or deleted? The difficulty as I see it, is that notability is being measured by h-index, which is low for humanities and low for literature (particularly electronic literature)... and thus the criterion is being misapplied in this field. Thank you for your insights and help. LoveElectronicLiterature (talk) 21:48, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
