Hi Mwitty! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Conflict of interest
[edit]It is considered generally inappropriate to give one's own work as a citation, see wp:Conflict of interest. The only exception would be where the material cited has impeccable publication information such as in a notable journal such as Nature or in a book published by a notable publisher such as Cambridge University Press (see wp:Reliable sources). I deleted the citations that you added because they satisfied neither of these conditions. If you can resolve these questions, you may reinstate, suitably modified. The citation you added at Horizontal gene transfer#Viruses is the standard expected.
If you wish to challenge what I have done, I suggest that you begin by using the {{help me}} template to ask an administrator to advise. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 20:45, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- I can add that plugging own books/translations through reference spam seems to be all you have ever done here since this account was created five years ago. Which is definitely not allowed. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 20:49, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
