Obversa (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
The block appears to be primarily due to disputes with User:Grorp, who I feel has been targeting me specifically for a while now. What Grorp describes as "loutsocking" has been me trying to avoid being constantly harassed by them on my User Talk page and various other pages, and this request came after I already told Grorp I wished to retire this Wikipedia account and no longer interfere with their edits or the other users mentioned (see Talk:American Warmblood and other pages). The bulk of the disputes appear to be related to horse-related pages only, though Grorp also appears to have listed all pages edited since I joined Wikipedia, despite the disputes taking place primarily in regards to horse-related pages. Grorp also appears to assuming bad faith on all of my edits, when many of the edits they are disputing were made in good faith (Wikipedia:Assume good faith), and were not intended to be disruptive, with good-faith efforts made by me to made sure that these edits comply with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Grorp claims "I cannot imagine that any further attempts at correction would result in any improvement since others have tried before, with no noticeable change in editing behavior", while omitting that I have stated, on numerous occasions, that my main dispute has been with Grorp and their perceived targeting of my account due to them personally disagreeing with my edit(s). Most of the edits that Grorp is using for their block rationale here are not related to copyright violations, and Grorp never mentioned copyright violations once in their previous Talk discussions with me, to my knowledge. Grorp also never notified me of any copyright violations, nor gave me any chance to discuss alleged copyright violations with them. Contrary to Grorp's claims, my goal has not been to "evade scrutiny", but to "evade harassment", as I have stated numerous times in asking Grorp to stop harassing me in previous Talk discussions. As I listed my account as "retired" prior to Grorp filing a CCI notice, I would also like to request a block lift to initate Wikipedia:Clean start procedures and register for a new username, with the condition that it be restricted to minor edits only, or a block on all horse-related pages, as that appears to be Grorp's primary reason for filing the CCI notice. User:Montanabw also previously suggested a "minor edits only" compromise to resolve the dispute between me and Grorp, which I am willing to agree to. Decline reason:
I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you:
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. The reason for the block was violations of the copyright policy going back several years; and editing while logged out to avoid scrutiny. The blocking admin also noted "repeated additions of unsourced content and original research". These concerns about your actions are the matters that you need to address in any future request for unblock. I am particularly concerned about your disregard for (or lack of understanding of) our copyright policy, an official Wikipedia policy with legal considerations. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 03:12, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

- Oppose unblock also, please note this user is misrepresenting something I may suggested in the context of a single article editing dispute—before I realized the whole picture here. At this point, I fully support maintaining an indefinite block, particularly upon a review of this user’s full contributions, the CCI, assorted problematic editing, and clear evidence of sockpuppetry, at least in the form of ediitng while logged out and their admission to doing so. They were NOT being “harassed” by anyone, they were repeatedly being informed that their behavior and edits were problematic. Further, this editor was already warned over a year ago about multiple copyright violations, and their behavior has not changed, as evidenced by the diffs presented in the new CCI. I also see below this user (once again) uploaded yet another a copyright protected image (see below) with a rationale of using it in an unrelated article that doesn’t fit policy on fair use of copyrighted works. Their endless pleas of ignorance are disingenuous. This user is basically asking for a get out of jail free card by attacking one user Grorp, misrepresenting the position of another (me), and showing no evidence of understanding their own actions. There is no evidence that this editor is ready for the standard offer, let alone a clean start— for this user, that would be all but a new sockpuppet account. Please decline this unblock request. - Oppose: I would object to Obversa being unblocked. Though they have framed this as a dispute between two users, I noticed that at least two other long-term editors (Montanabw and Justlettersandnumbers) have independently reverted many of their edits for the same reasons I mentioned in the CCI report. I see no indication that Obversa understands the violations disclosed in the CCI report, while presenting the excuse that I did not discuss with them copyvios—they had tried that with admin Diannaa and was told "And no, you do not get to make a certain number of copyright violations per year. Final warning stands." Now they are asking for their block to be removed so they can "fresh start" and potentially further introduce copyvios, OR and SYNTH into Wikipedia with even less scrutiny. ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 01:30, 12 May 2025 (UTC)
