Image copyright
[edit]I had no idea screenshots are copyrighted. Where does fair use begin and end on Wikipedia? If an image can be used in an article, why can't it be used on the front page? TurboSuperA+(connect) 10:32, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
- It's all outlined in the Wikipedia:Image use policy. Not having non-free images on the front page has been something that has been in place since the earliest days of the site. I seem to remember that Jimmy Wales was the one who put the dictat in place, so there is zero chance of it being changed. - SchroCat (talk) 10:41, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
- So non-free images are allowed in articles, just not the front page? TurboSuperA+(connect) 10:46, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
