Your GA nomination of Index, Washington
[edit]Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Index, Washington you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Mz7 -- Mz7 (talk) 19:23, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello SounderBruce. From below, it looks like today is your birthday—happy birthday!
Really excellent work on the Index, Washington article. I have left a bunch of suggestions at Talk:Index, Washington/GA1, but in my opinion, none of them block your article from passing the good article criteria. I'll probably leave the review open for another day or so in case you or anyone else has any questions or further suggestions, but I am happy to get this article passed for you. Sounder commuter rail: FA nomination: map colors
[edit]Re: Sounder article at FA nomination. It is a great article!! I liked it during the GA review, and I still like it.
My notes in the FA review include a criticism of the map template that is used for the rail line ... focusing on the "blue on blue" issue I raised in the GA review. Of course, that map is beyond your control, and it is not an impediment to FA approval. I only brought it up in the FA to see if there were solutions to the color contrast issue that already exist ... or maybe the managers of that map template can create a solution?
Anyway: great article, and please don't take my queries about the map template as a reflection of the work you did on the article. Noleander (talk) 14:10, 10 May 2025 (UTC)

owner has a clear legal meaning
[edit]hey sounderbruce, i saw your revert of operator to owner. calling somebody "owner" who only holds a license which can be revoked at any time is confusing, if not even misleading, Ownership is a clearly defined legal term. the contracts the operators sign do not mention this term. i believed for years that the clubs of the MLS are owned like in every other country - and felt a little deceived when i found out it is not so, i did not doubt a second what wikipedia writes - and of course i know one should be doubtful more often than not :) ThurnerRupert (talk) 19:40, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- @ThurnerRupert: Wikipedia is a reflection of existing sources. Almost all of them use the term "owner" for the owner-investor of MLS teams, so let's not try to overcomplicate the infobox (which is meant to be a summary, not a detail-laden section). The league's structure is adequately covered in the league article and associated lists, so I really don't see the point in trying to repeat this on all 33 MLS team articles. DYK for PWHL Seattle
[edit]On 30 May 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article PWHL Seattle, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Seattle's women's ice hockey team has an expected rival, despite not even having played their first game? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/PWHL Seattle. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, PWHL Seattle), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello. You are invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It's currently planned for June 16-July 13. There is currently $3338 going into it, with $500 the top prize. As 250 countries and entities is too much to patrol, entries will be by user, but there is $500 going into prizes for editors covering the most countries. Sign up if interested! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:37, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
