- If your message is about an AFD or other discussion that you want me to (re)contribute to, I will generally not reply other than by checking the page and adding a comment.
- I will normally reply here and use {{talkback}} to notify you that I've done so.

Administrators' newsletter – January 2025
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2024).
- Following an RFC, Wikipedia:Notability (species) was adopted as a subject-specific notability guideline.
- A request for comment is open to discuss whether admins should be advised to warn users rather than issue no-warning blocks to those who have posted promotional content outside of article space.
- The Nuke feature also now provides links to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.
- Following the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been elected to the Arbitration Committee: CaptainEek, Daniel, Elli, KrakatoaKatie, Liz, Primefac, ScottishFinnishRadish, Theleekycauldron, Worm That Turned.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in January 2025 to reduce the number of unreviewed articles and redirects in the new pages feed. Sign up here to participate!

Draft:Priyanka Choudhary
[edit]Hi because you protected the topic can you tell me what is the problem with this article? I mean there are so many articles of actors in Wikipedia which are not as good as this article and those actors have not done as many roles as Priyanka has done. Iamaninnocentsoul (talk) 05:16, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- Certainly, please see wikipedia:Deletion review/Perennial requests#Priyanka_Choudhary. 08:24, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- So a new article on Priyanka Choudhary cannot be created?--Iamaninnocentsoul (talk) 08:52, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- The consensus is that there should not be an article about her at the current time. The above link explains what would need to be done if one was to be created. Stifle (talk) 07:57, 22 April 2025 (UTC)

Mohamed Sy Savané AfD note
[edit]Hi, Stifle. Sorry if this is a nuisance, but I sort of... unilaterally overturned your AfD close at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mohamed Sy Savané by turning the page into a redirect? I know there was a consensus to navify, but I was clicking through the listed pages and getting really confused as to why I couldn't find this guy mentioned in 2/3 of them? After going back into article history and looking at the sources, I realized he'd competed under two different names. While I was doing that, given that BLP applies to him, I also had to check the sources to confirm the categories somebody had assigned to him after the close were accurate. They seem to be, which is good, but I couldn't really add information to confirm that to any of the major sporting articles. I then went to check his brother's page, Amadou Sy Savané, and realized that the information I'd been looking for was there all along. So I decided to pull a bit more from the page history, and just BLAR the nav page there instead. Hopefully that's okay? No idea if that's one of the cases you're meant to take to DRV - I thought it would seem a bit silly to, given that I wasn't really questioning the close so much as realized I'd found a good target not previously discussed. If you'd like me to self revert, let me know and... I guess I'll start a new AfD? RfD? Talkpage discussion? No idea! It feels sort of fun to be in these uncharted territories! Anyways, just thought I'd give you a heads up and an update. Thanks for all you do and I hope you're having a nice evening! GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋 03:56, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Sounds like you've done the B in WP:BRD. If someone else does the R, then you all do the D. If nobody does, then you've taken an editorial action which nobody disagreed with, and we carry on. All good! Stifle (talk) 07:27, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

Interface administrator changes
- Following an RfC, administrator elections were permanently authorized on a five-month schedule. The next election will be scheduled soon; see Wikipedia talk:Administrator elections for more information. This is an alternate process to the RfA process and does not replace the latter.
- An RfC was closed with consensus to allow editors to opt-out of seeing "sticky decorative elements". Such elements should now be wrapped in {{sticky decoration wrapper}}. Editors who wish to opt out can follow the instructions at WP:STICKYDECO.
- An RfC has resulted in a broad prohibition on the use of AI-generated images in articles. A few common-sense exceptions are recognized.
- A New Pages Patrol backlog drive is happening in May 2025 to reduce the backlog of articles in the new pages feed. Sign up here to participate!
Speedy deletion declined: Music Venue Properties
[edit]Hello Stifle. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Music Venue Properties, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Presence of sources about the org is a credible assertion of importance. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:07, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
