- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Happy editing! Cheers, 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 18:47, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a draft for a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Draft:Surya Devan. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Sksatsuma (talk) 16:25, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your feedback and the clarification. I understand the importance of Wikipedia’s neutrality and conflict of interest guidelines. My intention was not to promote, but to document notable, verifiable public work supported by reliable third-party sources (e.g. International Business Times, Deccan Herald, Tycoon World). The article has been restructured to follow encyclopedic tone and removed subjective phrasing.
- I welcome an impartial review or community editor adoption of the draft, and I’m open to withdrawing from editing it directly if that’s more appropriate. Kindly advise the best next steps to ensure the article meets Wikipedia’s standards without violating policy. SuryaDevanE (talk) 18:56, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion, or advertising again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 18:41, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello SuryaDevanE. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:SuryaDevanE. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=SuryaDevanE|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MrOllie (talk) 20:44, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Draft:Singanhalli developers. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 21:59, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Asilvering. An edit that you recently made seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia, and output must be carefully checked. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. asilvering (talk) 23:08, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Surya Devan
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Surya Devan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 18:40, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I understand that my account was blocked for promotional editing. I respectfully request reconsideration. I’ve since reviewed Wikipedia’s guidelines and would like to contribute neutrally and constructively to topics of public historical interest, including the draft on Nanninthamby Eliyathamby, a verified pioneer of the Ceylon Tamil community in Singapore with multiple reliable sources. Thank you. SuryaDevanE (talk) 01:04, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
