1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement
- I haven’t received any compensation, I was editing on behalf of my own business and truly didn’t realize I was going about it the wrong way. I really appreciate you pointing out the proper process and I’ll make sure to follow it moving forward.
2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked
- I understand now that I was blocked because I made a series of edits in a way that didn’t follow the site’s guidelines. I was new and honestly thought something was wrong with the site when I couldn’t see my changes, so I kept trying. I now realize it wasn’t a glitch you were just editing very quickly, and I misunderstood what was happening. I’m really sorry for the confusion and I’ll be much more careful in the future.
3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked
- If I’m unblocked, I’d like to contribute by creating content in the correct way, following all the guidelines. I also think I’ll avoid making direct edits for a while, just to be sure I’m respecting the process and learning properly.
4. Provide a new username

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Model Town. Knitsey (talk) 21:45, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand how this works. I am trying to update the model town link to include all the information regarding the term "model town" TheModelTown (talk) 21:47, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That is a disambigation page related to model towns. This is not a link for you to hijack the page to promote your magazine. If you want an article about the magazine then you need to create one. See the links above on creating an article. Thank you. Knitsey (talk) 21:50, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I had no idea I kept click the page and all the text was gone I thought I was saving it wrong I didn't realize I was doing something that wasn't allowed. It kept showing it was all "green" I took that as in the clear. Thank you for letting me know I will try the link you sent, thanks for the help. TheModelTown (talk) 21:55, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, website, or role, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Bishonen | tålk 21:52, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Would it be possible to have this removed so I can follow the recommendation you mentioned? My account is currently showing a message saying I can't proceed while this is still active. I really appreciate your help, thank you so much in advance and sorry for misunderstanding and any inconvenience I may have caused. TheModelTown (talk) 22:02, 22 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I assume that you operate your business to earn a living and not as a unpaid hobby in your free time- that you pay yourself a salary or otherwise have a financial interest in the performance of your business- this makes you a paid editor no different than if you paid an employee to do what you attempted to do. I believe that you may not have known how things operate here, and that's fine, most people don't immediately. Now that you know there are stricter rules when editing about a topic that you are associated with, please tell what topics you will edit about instead- we will first want to see edits from you unrelated to your conflict of interest, showing that you understand relevant policies like WP:PROMO and WP:COI before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your business. If that's okay with you, please tell what topics you will edit about in a new request. 331dot (talk) 08:45, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
