Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. If this block is based off of private evidence, it can additionally be appealed to the Arbitration Committee at arbcom-enwikimedia.org. For an unblock to be considered, you must:
- Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
- State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
- Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

{{unblock|1=I didn't know it applied to me because I don't have a financial stake because this is a charity and I'm a volunteer. I now understand the reasons and I won't do it again. ~~~~}}

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:
{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=I didn't know it applied to me because I don't have a financial stake because this is a charity and I'm a volunteer. I now understand the reasons and I won't do it again. |3 = ~~~~}}
If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}}
with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.
{{unblock reviewed |1=I didn't know it applied to me because I don't have a financial stake because this is a charity and I'm a volunteer. I now understand the reasons and I won't do it again. |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

Hi there! As a volunteer for the organization, we highly recommend you do not edit related articles due to your conflict of interest, which makes writing from a neutral point of view more challenging. Are there any other topics you'd be interested in editing? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 04:28, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Jimfbleak, is there other evidence of paid editing we should be aware of? This would be a simple COI and not UPE, so I'd happily unblock here. -- asilvering (talk) 21:46, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
- @asilvering, thanks. This user has twice created Draft:INpowerment, strongly linked to Compass Rose International, their only other contribution being a gushing promo Draft:Katie Hilborn for its founder. WriterSunshine also appears to know about Hilborn's inspirations and manuscript book. Most to the point, WS took the posed image File:Head Shot Katie Hilborn.jpg, which suggests that they have access you would not expect for a random volunteer. I think the claim made above is disingenuous, you don't have to be paid to have a declarable COI. It's up to you, but personally I wouldn't unblock without further clarification and perhaps undertakings regarding editing on these topics Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:57, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- Sometimes even unpaid volunteer work can be "paid editing" if the editor intends to put the work on their resume; this is often done with charitable work; community service work is also sometimes a requirement of schools. 331dot (talk) 08:48, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
