Amphisbaenidae stubs

I recently proposed Amphisbaenidae stubs as a category and {{Amphisbaenidae-stub}} and category: Amphisbaenidae stubs were created. Having applied the template to stub articles under category:Amphisbaenidae, I have discovered that the category tree (like my own notions about lizard classification) is out of step with the latest accepted taxonomy. What was really required was {{Amphisbaenia-stub}} and category: Amphisbaenia stubs, as clade Amphisbaenia is the taxon which now holds the families formerly included in Amphisbaenidae. Would it be in order to create the required new template and category and redirect {{Amphisbaenidae-stub}} and category: Amphisbaenidae stubs? There was already a redirect from {{Amphisbaenian-stub}}, but I'm not convinced that would the right name, because the article is called "Amphisbaenia", not "Amphisbaenian". Updating stub lists

Hi folks - I have all the various sub-sections of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Stub_sorting/Stub_types on my watchlist, and I haven't noticed anyone updating those lists with the astounding number of newly created stub templates & cats. I'd greatly appreciate it if, when you create a template and/or cat, you would please update those lists - I'm just about keeping up with my various wiki jobs as it is. Thanks!! I've been checking on the myriad new stub templates and categories and notice that few, if any, are being added to the stub types lists. I'm already overloaded with closing and listing for the archives, so am unable to contribute to updating those lists. If you have been creating stub templates and categories and assuming that someone else will be updating the stub type lists, you are mistaken; that task is not assigned to anyone in particular, and in the past it was assumed that whoever created the template/category would update the lists. How to handle renamed stub-template

If a stub-template is renamed (not merged or changed scope), is it sufficient to leave a redirect at the old template name, or should existing uses be replaced with the new name? DMacks (talk) 21:52, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

I would say that WP:NOTBROKEN applies - template transclusion via redirect works perfectly well. Many of our commonly-used templates - such as {{asbox}}, {{cn}} and indeed {{tl}} itself - are more commonly used in this way rather than the unredirected form. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 07:45, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
