Conventions

All authors editing India related topics are requested to use Indian English per Wikipedia conventions for India. All measurements should be in SI units. Imperial units or US customary units can be added in parenthesis. All monetary values should be in Indian Rupees, with the approximate US Dollar amount indicated in parenthesis. Do not refer to Indian personalities by their honourary titles. Artice 18 of the Indian Constitution bans the usage of titles. Example: (Correct: Jyotiraditya Scindia Incorrect: Maharajah Jyotiraditya). Where applicable, a pronunciation guide in IPA format should accompany the names of cities, districts, states, personalities, etc. Transliteration of vernacular text should be italicised, per Manual of Style. Example: The Tibetan name for Sikkim is Bras mo ljongs, which means the "valley of rice". Discussion of policies and conventions for India-related articles can be found here.
