Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/India
![]() | Points of interest related to India on Wikipedia: Outline – History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment – Style – To-do |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to India. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|India|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to India. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Asia.

- I disagree with that. My observation was that the author User:Arumugam040 has copied the content from V. Senthil Balaji and pasted it as new person. I double-checked the records later when @QEnigma: informed me, no such person exist as M. Arumugam. It's a double-entry page from another article under a false name. It should be tagged for CSD G3. - Speedy delete. This article is a compilation of content from other mainspace articles, namely V. Senthil Balaji and K. N. Nehru. The references and sources cited do not support the content of the article. This can be verified by reviewing the references in detail, including the retrieval dates of the news articles, which are visible alongside the citations and making a comparison. Two additional examples of hoax articles created by the same creating editor are Draft:KM Ragul and Draft:Rahul Kamaraj, both of which were deleted under CSD G3. The AfC/NPP review in this instance was conducted by CSMention269, who is fully entitled to re-examine the submission and take appropriate corrective action, including nominating it for deletion under the CSD process. The CSD nomination should not have been declined without thorough scrutiny. QEnigma (talk) 13:28, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

The article does not meet Wikipedia’s rules for biographies of notable people (WP:NBIO). Even though Samir Saran has important roles at the Observer Research Foundation and The Asia Group, there aren’t enough reliable news articles that talk about him in detail. Most of the sources either come from him or only mention him briefly. This article fails to meet the notability guidelines as outlined in WP:N. The subject is not the focus of any significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. The few mentions that do exist in Bengali are passing and do not provide the depth of material necessary to support a standalone article. Most of the sources cited are either not about the subject or use it only as a brief example without substantial analysis or dedicated discussion. Given the lack of notability and meaningful coverage, the article does not justify its own space. Retaining it in its current state risks violating Wikipedia’s standards. As nicely as possible, I think this article is full of it. The sources are indeed real pages but when trying to check any of the claims in them they all lead in a circular manner back to pages controlled by the senkoukai. All of the supposed masters that he trained under are not pulling up any search results, even when I search for their names in Japanese. The same happens when I search for the organizations that recognized this particular style like International Bujutsu Karate Association. I will be honest that I can't read any of the sources that are not in English but what I have (not) seen in English and Japanese makes me doubt. Moritoriko (talk) 07:30, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

- I respectfully request that this page not be deleted.
- The article on Senkoukai Karate is based on verifiable and reliable sources, many of which are from established news outlets. The subject has received significant coverage in independent publications, which supports its notability as per Wikipedia guidelines.
- Here are some of the sources that confirm the authenticity and notability of Senkoukai Karate:
- - Telangana Today: “Hyderabad-based martial artist develops India's first independent karate style, Senkoukai Karate gains global recognition.”
- - Asian Community News: “Hanshi Shaswat Kumar becomes first Indian to earn 10th Dan black belt from Japan.”
- - Sakshi Epaper (multiple editions): Coverage of kata demonstrations, global recognition, and Indian leadership in martial arts.
- - Namasthe Telangana (NT News): Reported on global recognition of Senkoukai Karate.
- - IBKA Japan: Recognition of Senkoukai Karate is documented.
- These articles are archived and available for verification.
- The content has been written with neutrality and in accordance with Wikipedia’s content policies. I am open to improving the article further if required, but kindly consider retaining the page, as the subject is notable and reliably documented.
- MartialArtsStyles (talk) 11:34, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your observations and concerns. I genuinely appreciate your interest in verifying the information. I would like to respectfully clarify a few important points and request that the article not be deleted, as it is based on verifiable facts and can be improved further as per Wikipedia’s standards.
- 1. Regarding the International Bujutsu Karate Association (IBKA):
- While their official website is currently not active, the organization is legitimate and recognized in Japan. Here are their official contact details for verification:
- Address: 064-0821 Kita 1-jo Nishi 22-3-18, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, MDC Omotesando Building, 2nd Floor
- Tel: 011-215-9880
- Handy: 090-9430-7668
- Fax: 011-522-6960
- Additionally, in this YouTube video, their official banner is clearly visible in the background:
- 🔗 https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ti7buZW2EuY
- Anyone is welcome to reach out to them directly to confirm their recognition of Senkoukai Karate.
- 2. Regarding the Japanese masters and recognition:
- One of the senior Japanese masters is Hanshi Masaki Watanabe, Chairman of the World Executive Committee for Senkoukai Karate. While not all senior Japanese instructors have personal websites, you can verify Masaki Watanabe’s presence through these official platforms:
- Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/masaki.watanabe.karate
- YouTube Shorts: Video 1, Video 2
- He is also present on Facebook and other social platforms.
- 3. Regional language media coverage:
- Multiple Indian news outlets such as Sakshi, Namasthe Telangana, Telangana Today, and Asian Community News have independently reported on Senkoukai Karate’s formation, recognition, and growth. If needed, I can help provide English translations or summaries of these non-English sources.
- In conclusion, I respectfully request that this page not be deleted. The subject is notable, covered in reliable sources, and supported by international recognition. I remain fully committed to improving the article’s neutrality, citations, and structure as per Wikipedia guidelines.
- Thank you again for your thoughtful consideration. MartialArtsStyles (talk) 00:59, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- 1. I never doubted that the organization exists and it is indeed recognized as a corporation, I can't find anything about it being recognized as anything other than a local practice place in Sapporo.
- 2. Again, I don't doubt that he is a real person, just his qualifications to declare something notable.
- 3. To determine notability for Wikipedia it is important to have non-interview articles, and because you are a CoI editor unfortunately the burden of proof is even higher.
- In America it is relatively easy to found a school of some branch of martial arts and then contact any one of several organizations to "certify" it as a real thing but that doesn't make it notable. Moritoriko (talk) 07:16, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- I completely agree with user Moritoriko, I have also been trying for the past month to review their references, claims and citations since the Senkoukai instructor started vandalising a bunch of different martial arts pages such as 100-man kumite, Comparison of karate styles, and Full contact karate (You can see this in the revision history). Everything returns back to Senkoukai managed pages when checking, also the newspaper articles they keep adding could very easily just be paid promotional article coverage which they all seem to be written by Shashwat Kumar or someone linked to him.
- I agree that this article should be deleted as soon as possible, also if you go on the Facebook page for World Senkoukai Karate Organisation he is even using the Wikipedia article for Senkoukai for advertising.
- Below pulled from his Facebook.
- "If you want to know more about Senkoukai Karate, please visit the official Wikipedia page of Senkoukai: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senkoukai" NottinghamNinja (talk) 01:30, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Following my above comment I would like to vote Delete for the Senkoukai article. NottinghamNinja (talk) 01:40, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- I would like to respectfully respond to the concerns raised above.
- With due regard to the contributors, I believe we must maintain the principle that Wikipedia articles are judged based on their content and references, not on assumptions about the intentions or identities of the editors.
- If tomorrow, someone creates a page about any lesser-known but verifiable organization and provides references — and those references meet the basic notability and verifiability criteria — should the article be deleted just because the editor may be linked to the organization? That would be a slippery slope and would set a problematic precedent.
- In this case:
- If there are references from independent media sources, even if small, they should be evaluated on their reliability and independence, not presumed to be "paid" without concrete proof.
- If any editor has added inappropriate promotion across unrelated articles, that specific behavior should be handled through page protection or user warnings/blocks — not by punishing the subject of the article itself.
- The organization or its founder should not be penalized simply because someone else (even if affiliated) has referenced the Wikipedia page on social media. Wikipedia is a public platform — anyone can quote it, but that doesn’t make the article itself promotional.
- If there are genuinely verifiable, third-party sources that establish the organization's notability — even in regional or martial arts contexts — the article deserves improvement, not deletion.
- Let's please focus on the quality of the sources and content, not on assumptions or personal affiliations. If specific references are not meeting standards, we can replace or tag them — deletion should be a last resort, not a first response.
- Thank you. MartialArtsStyles (talk) 07:10, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- I would like to clarify an important point — deleting a Wikipedia article solely on the suspicion that the news coverage might be "paid" is not appropriate and goes against the principles of neutrality and verifiability that Wikipedia stands for.
- If the news sources used in the article are registered media outlets, regularly publish content, and follow even basic journalistic standards, then they should be treated as reliable sources unless there is solid proof to the contrary.
- Even if someone has doubts, they are always free to contact the news organization directly to verify the nature of the coverage. But until such confirmation is obtained, removing the article based on speculation is unfair and sets a problematic precedent.
- Wikipedia’s policy is clear — if the content is verifiable and backed by independent, reliable sources, it should be considered acceptable regardless of how well-known the subject is.
- Therefore, I respectfully request that this discussion stay focused on the quality of the sources rather than unverified assumptions. If any source is genuinely unreliable, we can replace it. But deletion should be a last resort, not the first step.
- Thank you. MartialArtsStyles (talk) 07:17, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Dear NottinghamNinja,
- With due respect, I would like to say that mistakes are a part of being human, and mistakes can — and should — be corrected through constructive collaboration, not through deletion.
- Let me share a specific example:
- You once changed the meaning of Senkoukai Kata on the article, but unfortunately, that edit was factually incorrect. The name "Senkoukai Kata" was actually proposed by Takayuki Asami, a Japanese Karate Master, as part of the Senkoukai system.
- So when such a change is made in good faith, but turns out to be inaccurate — should the entire article be deleted because of it? Or should it be corrected?
- Surely, we agree that it would not be fair for one person’s unintentional mistake to lead to punishment for someone else’s work, or for an entire tradition to be erased.
- My sincere request is:
- Please do not recommend deletion of the Senkoukai article. Instead, let's work together to improve it — by correcting content, adding reliable sources, and removing anything promotional if needed.
- This is how Wikipedia grows — not by removing emerging knowledge, but by refining it.
- Thank you for your understanding. MartialArtsStyles (talk) 07:29, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Wikipedia Team,
- I sincerely wish to say that I am facing difficulty in writing in the proper style and language required for Wikipedia. Because of this, there are some issues in my article.
- I kindly request your help in improving my draft. I promise to follow all Wikipedia rules and provide only verified and truthful information, with references from reliable newspapers and sources.
- Please guide me through this process.
- Thank you 🙏 MartialArtsStyles (talk) 07:39, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter about any other page, that is called "whatabout-ism".
- The presumption of "paid" that Mr. Ninja is referring to is because of the tone and content of the article, and possibly the unfortunate tendency to find articles like that in other similar publications.
- And there is precedent for the subject of articles being blocked in some way due to persistent abuse of adding things that are not notable to Wikipedia.
- Now, going through the sources that you have claimed show notability:
- 1. epaper.kothaswaram: The about us page on the website is blank, the contact us page just shows 1 guy's name, there is no indication this is a fact checked paper with editorial oversight, the kinds of things needed to show that a source is trusted.
- 2. Asian Community News: The article is credited to "ACN correspondent" which is usually not a good sign when evaluating sources. This organization looks much better than the first one though. I can actually read this one and the tone is a bit heavy handed which is part of why it appears suspect.
- 3. Telenaga Today: Now this is actually a decent looking source but it is an interview so it doesn't contribute to notability.
- 4. same as 3. Like actually the same article as 3, I don't know why it is used instead of 3.
- 5. Very similar to 1. I am not seeing indications it is a reliable source.
- 6. same as 5, neither of these are very long so even with being reliable I don't think they are in-depth.
- 7. Similar problems to above sources, there isn't an author listed and other things lacking to show reliability as a source.
- 8. The same article as 7. I may not be able to read this but I can still pattern match. It says the same thing.
- 9. The exact same article as 6. Are you just puffing up the number of sources? And this source doesn't include the names for the kata which it is being used as a source for.
- Now that I have spent the time going through all of these sources, the onus is now on you to show how I might be wrong or to show other sources that are reliable and demonstrate the notability of this organization. Moritoriko (talk) 07:54, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Moritoriko,
- Thank you for taking the time to go through the sources in such detail and for sharing your analysis so thoroughly. I genuinely appreciate your commitment to upholding Wikipedia’s reliability and quality standards — your effort reflects a deep respect for the platform’s integrity.
- Your comments have helped me better understand the areas where the current sources may fall short, especially regarding editorial oversight, named authorship, article tone, and duplication of content. I acknowledge that some of the sources, particularly [1], [5], and [6], may not meet the threshold of WP:RS.
- In terms of WP:NOTABILITY, my intention is to establish it through independent, in-depth, and secondary sources that genuinely reflect the organization’s standing and impact. While interviews like the one in Telangana Today may not directly establish notability, I included them as part of a broader context to show media interest — though I understand this alone is insufficient.
- Based on your feedback, I will revisit the list and work towards gathering more robust, well-established sources — preferably from recognized publications with editorial standards and independent analysis.
- If you happen to know of any direction or standards that might help identify such sources better, I’d truly appreciate your guidance. My intent here is not promotional in any way — only to ensure that if the subject is truly notable, it is represented fairly and within policy on Wikipedia.
- Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. It’s genuinely helpful and very much appreciated.
- With respect,
- User:MartialArtsStyles MartialArtsStyles (talk) 08:22, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hello respected editors,
- I humbly request that the Senkoukai page not be deleted at this time.
- I fully respect Wikipedia’s notability, verifiability, and reliable sourcing policies (WP:N, WP:V, WP:RS). I understand that the current references may not have fully met those standards. However, I am actively working on collecting stronger and more reputable sources, including well-known national newspapers like The Times of India, The Hindu, and other independent, fact-checked publications.
- These upcoming sources will offer in-depth, third-party coverage of Senkoukai’s history, activities, and recognition, which I believe will help establish the subject’s encyclopedic notability.
- All I respectfully ask is a little more time to improve the article and bring it into full compliance with Wikipedia’s content guidelines. I have no intention of promotional editing—my only goal is to ensure that if the subject is truly notable, it is represented fairly, neutrally, and policy-compliantly.
- Please consider pausing the deletion temporarily so I can make the necessary improvements. I am fully open to guidance and collaboration with fellow editors to meet the required standards.
- Thank you very much for your time and understanding.
- Respectfully,
- User:MartialArtsStyles MartialArtsStyles (talk) 08:36, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- In terms of Senkoukai being its own style of martial art I think it is too in its infancy and not notable enough yet to warrant its own article. It doesn't appear to have multiple clubs training in it.
- From what I have seen it just looks like basic Shotokan, I haven't seen any of the 10 unique Kata's either, the person who runs it is a self promoted 10th Dan and appears to be only in his early 30's.
- I don't believe this warrants it's own article as of yet, maybe later down the line in about 15 years if it grows to be a common style, but not yet, it seems only to be set up for promotional purposes. NottinghamNinja (talk) 10:17, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Also the fact that they have linked the wikipedia page on Facebook is a major red flag which should push towards deletion of the article.
- There are styles I am aware of which are far larger that don't have their own articles yet, such as Go-Kan-Ryu style which was founded in 1984, that style is commonly referred to as a fraudulent school within the martial arts community and I would also agree, but the size of it is huge and practiced heavily in Australia, the UK, across Europe and in the USA yet they do not have an article.
- Another style I am aware of is Tetsudo, that doesn't have an article but is its own style respectively even with a unique uniform. NottinghamNinja (talk) 16:09, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Following my above comment I would like to vote Delete for the Senkoukai article. NottinghamNinja (talk) 01:40, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NFF. Filming has begun but there is no release date (except projected sometime in 2026). Filming has begun but there is nothing notable about the production and since unreleased or upcoming films are seldom considered notable we could also move to draft as an WP:ATD until such time this one is. - Thanks for re-engaging, albeit at AfD. Notability is not inferred based on "filming significantly progressed" or the fact it is part of a notable series. NFF clearly states, "Additionally, films that have already begun shooting, but have not yet been publicly released (theatres or video), should generally not have their own articles unless the production itself is notable per the notability guidelines." Most of the sources give information about a clan by the name of the Chatthas but nothing about any sort of dynasty. There's already a separate article for the clan any under Chattha (clan) anyway.

- As I explained while removing the deletion template. The name of this page is chosen as "Chattha Dynasty" because all of the ruling chieftains were from the same family.
- The order being Nur Muhammad and his son Pir and Ahmad Chathha then Pir's son Ghualm Chattha and then Ghulams son Jan Chattha. So that is why "Dynasty" is an appropriate term.
- If the name is the issue that can be discussed separately.
- The article should stay on wikipedia space because it highlights a significant regional power in 18th-century Punjab and a less known prospect of punjabi history. Jatwadia (talk) 23:01, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
- These sources all refer to a Chhatha clan. Not a dynasty. Ixudi (talk) 15:21, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Source 1 clearly mentions a Chattha state on page 449 if you read carefully.
- Source 2 "Occupants of areas such as Rasulnagar on the border between the Punjab and afghan lands" this source proves they were independent rulers and not tributary to Afghans and had thier own teritories such as Rasulnagar.
- Source 3 clearly mentions Pir Muhammad Chattha succeding a "principality" from his father.
- Again the "dynasty" bit is not the issue the point being is that an independant Chattha state/principality existed which was ruled over by the same family that is why it is called a dynasty. Jatwadia (talk) 23:59, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Article about an educational institution, not properly referenced as passing inclusion criteria for educational institutions. As always, educational institutions are not automatically entitled to have articles just because they exist, and have to be shown to have WP:GNG-worthy third party coverage about them -- but this is "referenced" entirely to primary sources that are not support for notability, with not even one reliable or GNG-building source shown at all.
It also warrants note that a WP:SPA with a direct conflict of interest ("Gitm" right in their username) recently tried to rewrite this as a highly advertorialized promotional spiel that was overflowing with superfluous bolding of practically every word -- but even after reverting back to the version that existed before Monday, there's still some advertorialism ("GITM offer the best transport service to the student" -- best according to what objective third party source unaffiliated with the institution's PR department?) lurking in it.
Nothing here is "inherently" notable enough to exempt the institution from having to cite any reliable sourcing. Bearcat (talk) 14:39, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

I recently accepted this article via AfC. The subject has significant coverage in reliable sources like The Indian Express, The Print, and Hindustan Times, mainly around his death, but with in-depth info about his life. There's also a 2021 Hindi source with substantial coverage. I believe this meets the GNG, but to ensure consensus, I think an AfD discussion would be helpful so experienced editors can weigh in. - Was his death notable? Most people have obituaries. Where is the significant coverage outside of his death? --CNMall41 (talk) 17:23, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- I have a question please. If a news article about a person's death includes substantial coverage of their early life, career, and accomplishments essentially providing in-depth information directly about the subject, does that count toward meeting the General Notability Guideline (GNG)? Or is such a source discounted just because it's related to their death?Afstromen (talk) 17:45, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
- Reflecting on someone's life is exactly what an obituary does. If they were notable prior to the death, there would be significant coverage about their life during that time. So, unless something about the death is notable, it would not count. Otherwise, we could simply create new pages based on obituary sections of newspapers. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:18, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Delete This reads more like a promotional piece than an encyclopedia article. The company itself seems like a fairly run-of-the-mill platform, and most of the sources are interviews, routine profiles, or self-published content, much of which looks like it could be part of a paid PR push. - So ? The Dang states are referenced on multiple pages on wikipedia, and are part of a larger overarching project to both extensively cover, standardize and organize the articles on Princeyl States in Gujarat.
- To quote what I wrote on several articles about the Pandu Mehwas states:
- "This article is part of my series of articles on the various Princely States in Gujarat, especially the Dang states amd the Pandu Mehwas . Potentially once all the states have been covered we can decide which ones meet the criteria of merging into some sort of overarching article on the Gujarat states, and we can debate where the cutoff point is, as even before I looked into it we have had articles for years on states just as small or even smaller and less populous. Like Varnoli Nani for example. Then the original links can work as redirects, if we decide to do that." Ummunmutamnag (talk) 16:27, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- Also "unreliable sources" according to who ? Official goverment records are not reliable how ?
- Also the ironic thing is you yourself cite something which is not a policy or guideline.
- "This is an essay.
- It contains the advice or opinions of one or more Wikipedia contributors. This page is not an encyclopedia article, nor is it one of Wikipedia's policies or guidelines, as it has not been thoroughly vetted by the community. Some essays represent widespread norms; others only represent minority viewpoints."
- So you say my officially released goverment reports published by the British Goverment are "unreliable", based on sending me an essay that has no policy weight whatsoever !
- This is totally baseless and just shows your bias.
- Official Goverment data is not reliable, says a person citing a source whose heading literally says it is not vetted and should not be used to dictate policy. Ummunmutamnag (talk) 16:40, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but I move to remove the deletion tag from all three pages. You do not seem intereted in discussing anything, your reason is a subjective opinion which you back up via sharing a non vetted opinion piece, you ignore we have had articles on similar size or smaller states in Gujarat for years, etc. I'm sorry but I can't be bothered to check back several times a day if you maybe possibly respond to a single objection raised. Also the states are very much referenced in other sources, like "H H Or The Bathology Of Princes (1930)" by Kanhaalal Gauba, p. 303-304 https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.238361/page/n303/mode/2up https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.238361/page/n305/mode/2up Ummunmutamnag (talk) 11:05, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

The subject matter doesn't meet notability according to WP:GNG and WP:EVENTCRIT. It has not received enough coverage in reliable secondary sources; primarily, the content is original and speculative. This article fails to meet the notability guidelines as outlined in WP:N. The subject is not the focus of any significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. The few mentions that do exist are passing and do not provide the depth of material necessary to support a standalone article. Most of the sources cited are either not about the subject or use it only as a brief example without substantial analysis or dedicated discussion. Given the lack of notability and meaningful coverage, the article does not justify its own space. Deletion or merging into a broader, more relevant topic (if applicable) would be more appropriate. Retaining it in its current state risks violating Wikipedia’s standards. Jaunpurzada (talk) 21:15, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

- Redirect to Sylhetis#Other languages. The deepest source is a single paragraph, half of which is about who he was descended from, about his uncle, and about one of his sons. The remainder is just two sentences: "[Syed Israil] was a sufi saint well known for his high proficiency in Arabic and Persian. He was also known as the Malek-ul-Ulama, well-versed in both Arabic and Persian: he wrote Madanul Fauaed in Persian in 914 Hijri." The other sources manage to cover the same ground in one sentence each. Because of the absence of significant coverage, this shouldn't be a stand alone article. --Worldbruce (talk) 05:32, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

- Delete There is a long list of references but hardly relevant. He has written books but are they notable, Hard to find news about his books. I even couldn’t find any reliable book reviews to understand more about the subject. Neither there are coverage on subject in independent sources. He clearly fails WP:NAUTHOR. Above all article is promoting the individual by language and contents as well. Rahmatula786 (talk) 05:43, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep – The article clearly meets both WP:GNG and WP:NAUTHOR. The article contains citations from:
- Times of India – National daily; easily passes “newspaper of record” bar for reliability.[1]
- The Daily Star – Independent, third-party literary criticism → satisfies NAUTHOR #3.[2]
- Indiablooms – National digital news-wire, independent.[3]
- The Telegraph – Independent national daily (mostly popular in West Bengal and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands).[4]
- Trans World Features – in-depth author interview.[5]
- Each of these pieces is non-PR and non-paid. Together they comfortably exceed the two-source threshold of WP:GNG. Publishing credentials:
- ISBN citations include works from Rupa Publications – one of India’s oldest mainstream publishers.
- N.E. Publishers and Smriti Publishers – both commercial, audited presses (not vanity).
- This, plus multiple in-depth reviews (at least on two books), means Victor Ghoshe meets WP:NAUTHOR outright. Additional evidence of lasting impact:
- Library holdings: Tomb of God is catalogued in the Kerala State Central Library – the country’s second-oldest public library.[6]
- International distribution: The novel is stocked by Waterstones UK (brick-and-mortar chain).[7]
- Cultural cross-overs: Launches were headlined by National Film-Award legend Soumitra Chatterjee (for Tomb of God) and Sahitya Akademi winner Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay (for Paranormal 2).[3]
- These points strengthen the “enduring, not temporary” aspect of notability per WP:N.
- On the Gates Foundation mention: The caption of the image is the only evidence for that collaboration. If this single citation is insufficient, we can remove the claim without affecting notability.
- Addressing the objections:
- Mentions are not trivial: Coverage comes from mainstream dailies.
- No independent book reviews: Daily Star piece is a 1 000-word critique; TOI article devotes its entire feature to dissecting plot and historical backdrop.
- Tone is promotional: Agreed. The solution is copy-editing, not deletion.

His win in a reality show (Bigg Boss OTT 2) and some online controversies have received temporary media attention, but these do not amount to the kind of sustained, independent coverage needed to demonstrate long-term wiki article. A niche term at best, a made-up term at worse to promote an Indian counterpart to the American second lady. None of the existing citations mentions the term "second lady" and are only used to support claims that certain persons are wives of the Indian vice president. A search on Google does not yield any evidence of established endonymic usage of the term second lady of India (which is not merely a substitute for vice president wife). Searching "Uprashtrapati Bhawan hostess" also does not yield any quality sources. The role of Second Lady of India (as hostess of the Uparashtrapati Bhavan may not even exist even in unofficial capacity. Or if they do, they don't use the term). He also qualifies under WP:ANYBIO for receiving the Order of the Star of Italy, a major international honour. So, keep. --Vikram S Pasari (talk) 13:47, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

Comment not voting here, but sharing these to look at, [13], [14], [15], [16], interviews can also be used to pick up some points as this seems to be questioning in detail [17], [18], They have bagged several project including a few notable ones [19], [20], sponsored/partnered but tells us about Scania project [21], notable court related project case [22], [23]. Minor mentions primary, secondary to mentions that provide their work, court case and leadership informantion leads to GNG. There are mentions in other sources as well. Re-writing as an option would work better as it is an old article per Almandavi, tagging Patre23, B-Factor. HilssaMansen19 (talk) 06:27, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- @HilssaMansen19, Your comment is appreciable and your initiative to save an article. I would love to change my vote to Keep if I discover two substantial, independent pieces of coverage from credible sources. Rewriting may be a viable alternative as it serves as promotional content. - Delete per WP: TNT - yet another page about a marginally notable business person buried under a collapsed wall of trivia, unreliable sources, atrocious writing, and non-sequiturs. Sorry, not sorry. I have so many questions. When people write such pages, do they even bother to read what they wrote, and compare them to other Wikipedia articles? Was this written by AI? Was this written by someone who works under her? I would like to stubify this page into something coherent, if given the green light. I'm trying to see if they have even two sources towards significant coverage. Ping me. Bearian (talk) 01:23, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

- Hi Almandavi, Thank You for your participation in this afd. I am curious whether you conducted a WP:BEFORE prior to contributing your opinions here. IntellectualPoint (talk) 04:52, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- Delete per Bearian. This might even be eligible for WP:G4 on account of being very similar to a previously deleted version under the correct title of Anisha Singh (repeatedly recreated). Yuvaank (talk) 09:30, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep There are a lot of significant coverage which is independent of the subject and from reliable sources such as [25] - This article is written by Jamie McCrary from American University, which is in-depth, independent and from reliable source. [26] - This article is from The Economic Times written independently by Usha Rani Das, who is a staff business reporter at The Economic Times. [27] - This is another example of significant coverage written by Rinku Paul & Puja Singhal from Scroll.in. [28] - This article is written by Femina (India) staff, Femina is an Indian business magazine focused on Woman empowerment. And i can see there are many more articles which meets the criteria WP:SIGCOV, WP:THREE and WP:BASIC. IntellectualPoint (talk) 04:42, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- There have been zero changes in the article since the nomination for deletion. Therefore, there is no reason for me to change my mind as of yet. Again, in order to rescue an article, the proponents of keeping an article have to put in newly found sources into the article and also take out the unreliable sources. You can leave in the passing mentions. Finally, the article name is backwards and possibly too close a re-creation from a prior deletion after AfD. Do you want me to take out the unreliable sources? Bearian (talk) 12:57, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- The consensus is that The Economic Times is not a reliable source due to loss of press freedom in India and its owners, who commonly use churnalism. Bearian (talk) 13:06, 17 May 2025 (UTC)
- What about the other references? IntellectualPoint (talk) 12:53, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep The page has been created under a different name to game the system and bypass deletion detection. That said, after reviewing all the sources and checking online, I am leaning towards a keep vote as the subject has received significant coverage sufficient to establish notability. If the page survives, the title should be changed to the correct name, Anisha Singh.Jitendra indulkar (talk) 16:41, 17 May 2025 (UTC)

- Keep meets WP:GNG and good mentions in sources but I also agree with Bearian. The writing style of the article is clearly suggesting COI with a changed name/title as cited above. It should be either re-written with title changed or WP:TNT. HilssaMansen19 (talk) 20:24, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep Aside from the COI and the name change gaming mechanism, I examine the citations of this article. I observe sufficient significant coverage that is secondary and independent of the subject. If this article be preserved. I recommend altering the title from "Singh Anisha" to "Anisha Singh". AndySailz (talk) 13:05, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep per HilssaMansen19, this article having significant coverage and meets WP:GNG. SATavr (talk) 11:16, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

- Delete - And salt. Looking closer at the !keep votes, and their votes in other discussions, it is clear there is an attempt at gaming. AfD is NOT a vote count. The sources here are mainly churnalism, non-independent, WP:NEWSORGINDIA or otherwise unreliable. Even sources presented by the irregular keep votes are not bylined or in paid-for publications. --CNMall41 (talk) 17:14, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
