Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|India|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

I disagree with that. My observation was that the author User:Arumugam040 has copied the content from V. Senthil Balaji and pasted it as new person. I double-checked the records later when @QEnigma: informed me, no such person exist as M. Arumugam. It's a double-entry page from another article under a false name. It should be tagged for CSD G3. Speedy delete. This article is a compilation of content from other mainspace articles, namely V. Senthil Balaji and K. N. Nehru. The references and sources cited do not support the content of the article. This can be verified by reviewing the references in detail, including the retrieval dates of the news articles, which are visible alongside the citations and making a comparison. Two additional examples of hoax articles created by the same creating editor are Draft:KM Ragul and Draft:Rahul Kamaraj, both of which were deleted under CSD G3. The AfC/NPP review in this instance was conducted by CSMention269, who is fully entitled to re-examine the submission and take appropriate corrective action, including nominating it for deletion under the CSD process. This article fails to meet the notability guidelines as outlined in WP:N. The subject is not the focus of any significant coverage in reliable, independent sources. The few mentions that do exist in Bengali are passing and do not provide the depth of material necessary to support a standalone article. Most of the sources cited are either not about the subject or use it only as a brief example without substantial analysis or dedicated discussion. Senkoukai

As nicely as possible, I think this article is full of it. The sources are indeed real pages but when trying to check any of the claims in them they all lead in a circular manner back to pages controlled by the senkoukai. All of the supposed masters that he trained under are not pulling up any search results, even when I search for their names in Japanese. The same happens when I search for the organizations that recognized this particular style like International Bujutsu Karate Association. 1. I never doubted that the organization exists and it is indeed recognized as a corporation, I can't find anything about it being recognized as anything other than a local practice place in Sapporo.

2. Again, I don't doubt that he is a real person, just his qualifications to declare something notable.

3. To determine notability for Wikipedia it is important to have non-interview articles, and because you are a CoI editor unfortunately the burden of proof is even higher.

I completely agree with user Moritoriko, I have also been trying for the past month to review their references, claims and citations since the Senkoukai instructor started vandalising a bunch of different martial arts pages such as 100-man kumite, Comparison of karate styles, and Full contact karate (You can see this in the revision history). Everything returns back to Senkoukai managed pages when checking, also the newspaper articles they keep adding could very easily just be paid promotional article coverage which they all seem to be written by Shashwat Kumar or someone linked to him.

I agree that this article should be deleted as soon as possible, also if you go on the Facebook page for World Senkoukai Karate Organisation he is even using the Wikipedia article for Senkoukai for advertising.

With due regard to the contributors, I believe we must maintain the principle that Wikipedia articles are judged based on their content and references, not on assumptions about the intentions or identities of the editors.

If tomorrow, someone creates a page about any lesser-known but verifiable organization and provides references — and those references meet the basic notability and verifiability criteria — should the article be deleted just because the editor may be linked to the organization? That would be a slippery slope and would set a problematic precedent.

In this case:

If there are references from independent media sources, even if small, they should be evaluated on their reliability and independence, not presumed to be "paid" without concrete proof.

If any editor has added inappropriate promotion across unrelated articles, that specific behavior should be handled through page protection or user warnings/blocks — not by punishing the subject of the article itself.

The organization or its founder should not be penalized simply because someone else (even if affiliated) has referenced the Wikipedia page on social media. Wikipedia is a public platform — anyone can quote it, but that doesn’t make the article itself promotional.

If there are genuinely verifiable, third-party sources that establish the organization's notability — even in regional or martial arts contexts — the article deserves improvement, not deletion.

Let's please focus on the quality of the sources and content, not on assumptions or personal affiliations. If specific references are not meeting standards, we can replace or tag them — deletion should be a last resort, not a first response.

I would like to clarify an important point — deleting a Wikipedia article solely on the suspicion that the news coverage might be "paid" is not appropriate and goes against the principles of neutrality and verifiability that Wikipedia stands for.

With due respect, I would like to say that mistakes are a part of being human, and mistakes can — and should — be corrected through constructive collaboration, not through deletion.

Let me share a specific example:

You once changed the meaning of Senkoukai Kata on the article, but unfortunately, that edit was factually incorrect. The name "Senkoukai Kata" was actually proposed by Takayuki Asami, a Japanese Karate Master, as part of the Senkoukai system.

So when such a change is made in good faith, but turns out to be inaccurate — should the entire article be deleted because of it? Or should it be corrected?

Surely, we agree that it would not be fair for one person’s unintentional mistake to lead to punishment for someone else’s work, or for an entire tradition to be erased.

My sincere request is:

Please do not recommend deletion of the Senkoukai article. Instead, let's work together to improve it — by correcting content, adding reliable sources, and removing anything promotional if needed.

This is how Wikipedia grows — not by removing emerging knowledge, but by refining it.

It doesn't matter about any other page, that is called "whatabout-ism".

The presumption of "paid" that Mr. Ninja is referring to is because of the tone and content of the article, and possibly the unfortunate tendency to find articles like that in other similar publications.

And there is precedent for the subject of articles being blocked in some way due to persistent abuse of adding things that are not notable to Wikipedia.

Now, going through the sources that you have claimed show notability:

1. epaper.kothaswaram: The about us page on the website is blank, the contact us page just shows 1 guy's name, there is no indication this is a fact checked paper with editorial oversight, the kinds of things needed to show that a source is trusted.

2. Asian Community News: The article is credited to "ACN correspondent" which is usually not a good sign when evaluating sources. This organization looks much better than the first one though. I can actually read this one and the tone is a bit heavy handed which is part of why it appears suspect.

3. Telenaga Today: Now this is actually a decent looking source but it is an interview so it doesn't contribute to notability.

4. same as 3. Like actually the same article as 3, I don't know why it is used instead of 3.

5. Very similar to 1. I am not seeing indications it is a reliable source.

6. same as 5, neither of these are very long so even with being reliable I don't think they are in-depth.

7. Similar problems to above sources, there isn't an author listed and other things lacking to show reliability as a source.

8. The same article as 7. I may not be able to read this but I can still pattern match. It says the same thing.

9. The exact same article as 6. Are you just puffing up the number of sources? And this source doesn't include the names for the kata which it is being used as a source for.

In terms of Senkoukai being its own style of martial art I think it is too in its infancy and not notable enough yet to warrant its own article. It doesn't appear to have multiple clubs training in it.

From what I have seen it just looks like basic Shotokan, I haven't seen any of the 10 unique Kata's either, the person who runs it is a self promoted 10th Dan and appears to be only in his early 30's.

I don't believe this warrants it's own article as of yet, maybe later down the line in about 15 years if it grows to be a common style, but not yet, it seems only to be set up for promotional purposes. NottinghamNinja (talk) 10:17, 1 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Also the fact that they have linked the wikipedia page on Facebook is a major red flag which should push towards deletion of the article.

There are styles I am aware of which are far larger that don't have their own articles yet, such as Go-Kan-Ryu style which was founded in 1984, that style is commonly referred to as a fraudulent school within the martial arts community and I would also agree, but the size of it is huge and practiced heavily in Australia, the UK, across Europe and in the USA yet they do not have an article.

Chattha Dynasty

As I explained while removing the deletion template. The name of this page is chosen as "Chattha Dynasty" because all of the ruling chieftains were from the same family.

The order being Nur Muhammad and his son Pir and Ahmad Chathha then Pir's son Ghualm Chattha and then Ghulams son Jan Chattha. So that is why "Dynasty" is an appropriate term.

If the name is the issue that can be discussed separately.

Source 2 "Occupants of areas such as Rasulnagar on the border between the Punjab and afghan lands" this source proves they were independent rulers and not tributary to Afghans and had thier own teritories such as Rasulnagar.

Source 3 clearly mentions Pir Muhammad Chattha succeding a "principality" from his father.

Article about an educational institution, not properly referenced as passing inclusion criteria for educational institutions. As always, educational institutions are not automatically entitled to have articles just because they exist, and have to be shown to have WP:GNG-worthy third party coverage about them -- but this is "referenced" entirely to primary sources that are not support for notability, with not even one reliable or GNG-building source shown at all.
It also warrants note that a WP:SPA with a direct conflict of interest ("Gitm" right in their username) recently tried to rewrite this as a highly advertorialized promotional spiel that was overflowing with superfluous bolding of practically every word -- but even after reverting back to the version that existed before Monday, there's still some advertorialism ("GITM offer the best transport service to the student" -- best according to what objective third party source unaffiliated with the institution's PR department?) lurking in it.

If a news article about a person's death includes substantial coverage of their early life, career, and accomplishments essentially providing in-depth information directly about the subject, does that count toward meeting the General Notability Guideline (GNG)? Reflecting on someone's life is exactly what an obituary does. If they were notable prior to the death, there would be significant coverage about their life during that time. So, unless something about the death is notable, it would not count. As noted in the Avchar article, the user here just asserts officialy released Goverment records are "unreliable", based on nothing, while citing as justification an essay which literally says it has not been vetted and does not represetn any official guidelines or policies.

Keep, seems to be covered by sources, especially ones published after the previous AfD. With that said, there is a lot of original research in this article. It should be made up of sources specifically about the term, not ones that just use it or don't mention it at all. Comment not voting here, but sharing these to look at, [13], [14], [15], [16], interviews can also be used to pick up some points as this seems to be questioning in detail [17], [18], They have bagged several project including a few notable ones [19], [20], sponsored/partnered but tells us about Scania project [21], notable court related project case [22], [23]. Minor mentions primary, secondary to mentions that provide their work, court case and leadership informantion leads to GNG. There are mentions in other sources as well. There have been zero changes in the article since the nomination for deletion. Therefore, there is no reason for me to change my mind as of yet. Again, in order to rescue an article, the proponents of keeping an article have to put in newly found sources into the article and also take out the unreliable sources. You can leave in the passing mentions. Finally, the article name is backwards and possibly too close a re-creation from a prior deletion after AfD. Do you want me to take out the unreliable sources? Keep The page has been created under a different name to game the system and bypass deletion detection. That said, after reviewing all the sources and checking online, I am leaning towards a keep vote as the subject has received significant coverage sufficient to establish notability. Keep Aside from the COI and the name change gaming mechanism, I examine the citations of this article. I observe sufficient significant coverage that is secondary and independent of the subject.
