Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Tea (production duo)
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Tea (production duo) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.teaproductions.com/about. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Wikipedia and copyright
[edit] Hello PRB69! Your additions to Draft:Tea (production duo) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:16, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello PRB69. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Tea (production duo), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:PRB69. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=PRB69|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:17, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello...
- Six Degrees Records is our music distributor. The biography of Tea on their website was furnished by myself. We are not employees of Six Degrees, it is just our music distributor. They are not compensating me/Tea for any edits. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks! PRB69 (talk) 19:21, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- I'm being contacted by two different editors, Justlettersandnumbers and Referentis, about the same situation. I have replied by Referentis' queries. Hopefully the two editors are in communication with each other about this situation? Thanks... PRB69 (talk) 19:40, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Well, you seem to be replying to me. In any case, you definitely need to make a paid-editor disclosure, as explained above, before you make any other edit – unless of course you derive and expect to derive no financial benefit whatsoever from your business? Please be aware that Wikipedia does not tolerate promotion of any kind, and that editors whose only edits are promotional in nature or intent are liable to lose their editing privileges. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:39, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello... I'm not sure I understand. I am not paid by anyone to edit the Wikipedia entry in question. Does this mean that every entry about a public entertainment (at least) persona has nothing to do with "promotion"? Or do all entertainment-based entries have to make this disclosure. Of course we expect to "derive financial benefit" from being a recording artist, but I am my own employer in this case. I've read this:
- Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure
- and
- Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Paid editors
- and I can't find anything that would apply to this situation. Again, I'm not being paid by anyone for this entry. How do all the other artists with distribution contracts handle this. Our distributor isn't involved in any Wikipedia entries. Can you assist me in determining how to word what you're asking for? Thanks... PRB69 (talk) 22:03, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Also, if there is specific wording that goes against Wikipedia's rules, we're not opposed if you want to edit out, or point out, what is the unallowed language. Having a Wikipedia entry is obviously a helpful validation of one's career, and we hope you can help us with this. Thanks again... PRB69 (talk) 22:12, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Validating one's career is not the purpose of Wikipedia.-- Ponyobons mots 22:14, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, but that isn't helpful for this situation. You haven't answered the questions I've politely asked. I await a helpful reply from the original contact here, Justlettersandnumbers. It may not be the purpose, but it's obviously helpful to one's public standing, if you can understand that. But thanks for your input. PRB69 (talk) 22:21, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
- PRB69, if you derive, have in the past derived, or expect in the future to derive, any financial benefit or reward from the topic you are writing about, you are considered to be a paid editor and are required under the Terms of Use of this project to make an appropriate paid-editor disclosure, preferably on your user page and in any discussion about the topic or about any page mentioning it. If – as it appears – you are one of the duo, the standard disclosure as explained above is not really well suited to the purpose, so why why not write something like "In accordance with the Terms of Use of the Wikimedia Foundation, I wish to disclose that I derive financial benefit from Teajuana Music and the production duo Tea"?
- You should be aware that Wikipedia does not tolerate promotion of any kind, and that editors whose only edits are promotional risk loss of editing privileges. Please understand that this an encyclopaedia, not an advertising platform, and that we have no interest whatsoever in helping people to validate their careers, increase their public standing or otherwise promote their interests. This is not the place for that. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 07:44, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
