Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Disambiguations
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Disambiguations. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Disambiguations|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Disambiguations. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Not a proper dab page: one entry is a definition and the other is a description or title in the same manner as, say, senator. You wouldn't list every person elected to that office in Senator (disambiguation). Clarityfiend (talk) 06:50, 13 June 2025 (UTC)

- Meyzenq (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
This disambiguation page is unnecessary. At present, there is only one Wikipedia article referring to an individual with the surname Meyzenq, namely Raymond Meyzenq. The creating editor appears to consider an individual listed on the Salomon Group article to be a notable figure and therefore has created a disambiguation page. However, there is no existing article on this individual to substantiate this claim of notability. Therefore, this disambiguation page should be deleted or be redirected, with CAT:RWP, to the existing article on Raymond Meyzenq, since he is the only person with that surname currently covered on this platform. - Keep. It is a surname page, not a dab page. It's reasonable to include the CEO, for whom a redirect would also be reasonable. PamD 08:03, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- @PamD: It was a disambiguation page until you altered it ([1]). Your position would have been much clearer if that was included with your post. Best regards. QEnigma (talk) 08:15, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- @QEnigma It was always a surname page. It was incorrectly labelled as a disambiguation page. PamD 11:01, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- @QEnigma But, OK, it might have been helpful if I had pointed that out ! Sorry about that. PamD 11:04, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- @PamD: I understand your position. However, it would have been preferable to make the alterations through consensus. That was the primary reason this article was listed on AfD forums. Nevertheless, I maintain the view that this article, whether a disambiguation page or a surname-related entry, requires the inclusion of more notable individuals with existing Wikipedia articles in order to be retained. As you are aware, there are numerous senior executives across various notable companies who do not have individual Wikipedia articles on them and are therefore not included in surname-related pages. Thank you for sharing your perspective. Best regards. QEnigma (talk) 11:15, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- @QEnigma I don't think any specific consensus is needed to remove an incorrect {{tl|dab}} template and add the correct {{tl|surname}} template. The AfD template says "Feel free to improve the article".
- Plenty of CEOs don't have links, plenty do. I've made a redirect from him to the company, and tweaked the dab page accordingly. PamD 16:23, 11 June 2025 (UTC)

- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Delete. Lists only one primary topic (that isn't even properly listed as the PT) and several similar-sounding names. Not sufficient at all for a DAB page. GilaMonster536 (talk) 02:17, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- Keep: I've fixed the dab page format, and the entries are all names which a reader might easily confuse, and all seem to have appropriate hatnotes leading to this dab page. PamD 07:39, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- There is a lovely web of surname pages, some of which claim the others as variants: see McCallister, McCalister, McAlister, McAllister, Macalister, Macalester (disambiguation), and probably many more "Son of Alasdair" names. I'm not sure whether they all have all the appropriate linkages to other variants, to help the poor reader who's looking for someone they've heard of! PamD 10:57, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

- Rename Kevin McAllister (disambiguation). There are several McAllisters and one near-match, and only one McCallister (aside from the song). Clarityfiend (talk) 10:05, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- Rename - I am open to a rename of the article to Kevin McAllister (disambiguation), but I also do not object to keeping the page at the current title. --Jax 0677 (talk) 13:21, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- Why? There are only two entries of that name, triggering WP:TWODABS. A hatnote in Kevin McCallister could include a link to the McAllister page. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:13, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

- Komiks (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Wikipedia is not a foreign dictionary. Komics (TV series) Komiks (TV series) should be moved here. Clarityfiend (talk) 20:49, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the list of Disambiguations-related deletion discussions. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 21:31, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
Conditional: I created the page as a redirect in 2008 because "komiks" in Philippine English refers to Philippine comics (ref. ABS-CBN, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Rappler) However, after 17 years, someone changed it to a disambiguation page, adding Polish comics. While "komiks" also means comics in Polish, I am unsure if this applies to other English language variants. If the evidence supports that "komiks" refers to Polish comics in other English variants, keep them. Otherwise, it should revert to the original redirect for Philippine comics.--Jojit (talk) 00:12, 27 May 2025 (UTC)- I changed my opinion to just keep it because "komiks" can now refer to three things here in English Wikipedia. Hence, it makes sense to have a disambiguation page for "komiks". --Jojit (talk) 05:08, 29 May 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: The redlink in the nomination is undoubtedly a typo; the nominator appears to be proposing that Komiks (TV series) is the main topic for "Komiks" should this disambiguation page be deleted. (At this time I offer no opinion on any of this.) WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 04:46, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

- Comment I know nothing much about comics or Philippine media, but I note that there are a large number of articles linking to Komiks, some of which seem to refer to the TV show and some to Philippine comics as a genre. Some serious sorting out is needed here, whatever the outcome of the discussion. In the meantime I've added the TV series to the dab page, which seems to have been a serious omission. - Redirect to the TV series. None of the two other meanings are words in English and should therefore be ignored, but the TV show has the word as its name. Pepparkaksgubbe (talk) 20:42, 9 June 2025 (UTC)

Relisting comment: Need more input from experienced editors. Is the article suitable to be kept outright, turned into a disambiguation page, or something else?

- Derekh (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
This purported disambiguation page is an incomplete list of articles containing the word: all entries are WP:Partial title matches. Wikipedia is not a dictionary, and this page inhibits Search Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:50, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in the list of Disambiguations-related deletion discussions. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:50, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think this quite as straightforward. The "derekh"/"derech", as used in Off the derech, seems to be one of the main topics of that article and thus a suitable redirect or DAB entry – variations on the "derekh" theme can be seen in this article [2]. I think Derekh eretz might also be a good target, but I can't find sources that use "derekh" alone to refer to the whole concept. I think the DAB could be kept, but if this closes with consensus against keeping, I suggest redirecting to Off the derech instead. Toadspike [Talk] 12:42, 31 May 2025 (UTC)

- This does not address the fact that the page is not a valid disambiguation page. The suggested redirect would be an even worse way of inhibiting the proper operation of Search. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:53, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
