This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Food and drink. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Food and drink|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Food and drink. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

The result was procedural close For whatever reason, the nominator had issues completing this nomination and ended up starting the identical Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Balushahi (Bihari cuisine) (2nd nomination). It is that nomination that the AfD tag on the article points to and has remained listed, and where the discussion will ultimately continue. I’m nominating this article for deletion because the topic is already covered at Balushahi, which includes the same basic information. This article mainly repeats that content with a focus on Bihar, but it doesn’t provide enough unique or region-specific details to justify a separate page.
The writing also reads like it was generated using an AI tool, with a promotional tone and no strong sources. It could mislead readers into thinking this is a different topic when it’s really not.
Any useful content can be merged into the main article, but as it stands, this page isn’t needed on its own. Jesus isGreat7 ☾⋆ | Ping Me 18:00, 11 June 2025 (UTC)

- Keep per the significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources.

The review notes: "Imagine a knock on the door. A TV crew shoves cameras in your face, and a prominent French chef rummages through your shelves to assemble a gourmet meal. Sounds a bit intrusive, right? But that's the trade off of free eats. The premise of "Gordon Elliott's Door Knock Dinners" seems like a tasty idea ripe for laughs, but the reality falters, coming off as a dis-appointing, disjointed presenta-tion. Elliott tries very, very hard, but he substitutes high energy for effective humor and seems har-ried. Better jokes or even more sarcastic gibes are needed to spice up the show. Elliott might find the right recipe later; he has a solid track record as a reporter."
- Napolitano, Chris (1999-11-11). "Door Knock Dinners". Rolling Stone. No. 825. EBSCOhost 2429911. ProQuest 2629592737.
The review notes: "A more apt title for Gordon Elliott's Door Knock Dinners might be 101 Meals With a Ham. But no matter what you call it, this brash new show is the best dinner theater on the tube. The show is built around a simple premise - and one that New Yorkers will find familiar. At one time, Elliott barged his way into homes for Fox's Good Day New York. On Door Knock Dinners, he's still the uninvited guest, but this time he brings along a professional chef whose job it is to cook and serve a gourmet meal from whatever is found in the randomly selected home. It's like Cops with food - and Elliott is the battering ram. Everyone is in on the joke except for the uneasy hosts. Fast camera-work captures their reactions to Elliott, who delivers vaguely sinister remarks a la The Cat in the Hat. ... Oh, and there's the food. The recipes are deceptively simple - a pasta with artichoke hearts, Camembert and peas, for example, or chicken fillets with a vegetable medley - but clearly, the entree is showmanship. The mix of singing waiters, an accordion player and a tuxedoed Frenchy with a fake mustache results in a boisterous bouillabaisse that is sure to take the Food Network out of the kitchen and into the living room."
- Elber, Lynn (1999-12-10). "When a gourmet dinner comes to you". Chicago Tribune. Associated Press. ProQuest 418936800. Archived from the original on 2025-06-14. Retrieved 2025-06-14 – via Newspapers.com.
The review notes: "Gordon Elliott, a towering Australian with a chef, camera crew and disarming wit in tow as he invades American kitchens with the aim of providing a good meal and gentle tweaking for "Gordon Elliott's Door Knock Dinners." ... With Elliott orchestrating the controlled madness, it's refreshingly quirky. ... Even Elliott's best shots are affable, not gruff. ... With its homespun sweetness, "Door Knock Dinners" is an antidote to the extensive menu of shows in which average Americans are exploited as caricatures (Jerry Springer, are you still out there?) or as game pieces in the "Greed" follies. ... Elliott has wrapped the first 21 "Door Knock Dinners" episodes for Food Network and was preparing to fly off to Sydney for work on a series pilot that would take his gatecrasher technique to other countries."

- Merge the first two paragraphs with Food contact materials whose scope already covers this topic and includes some of the impacts of chemical migration from packaging to food (legislation/regulations). The third paragraph might be salvagable, but a list of chemicals that can be found in food because of their packaging probably lacks too much context. ⇌ Synpath 14:54, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Most of these are based on the company’s claims without independent verification. The National and The Hindu are references that adhere to journalistic standards, providing neutral information about DestaGlobal’s work, but they lack detailed information. Hence, they are not sufficient to strongly support the claims. Some people may have different opinions about these two sources.-SachinSwami (talk) 7:01, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Not sure they're all reliable, and I can't access the paywalled ones, but I'm pretty sure there are a couple good ones among the collection: [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] -- Avocado (talk) 18:23, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Keep In addition to the sources already in the article, and those found by user Avocado, I have found a book, Jadite: An Identification and Price Guide [14], which has no preview on Google Books, but has 168 pages and covers "the works of the three major glass companies that produced jadite: McKee, Jeannette, and Anchor Hocking." Whether Chua is wiki-level notable himself, or not, I think there's enough notability for the companies. Since the Chua BLP existed already, it was the article I stuffed the content into.
