Wikipedia:Requests for page protection

Page semi-protected
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:RFPP)
Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Current requests for increase in protection level

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or, failing that, the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: Requesting semi-protection due to persistent disruptive editing by a user who continues to reinsert challenged content despite multiple reverts and weak or unsupported arguments, challenging more than one user. The behavior appears to border on edit warring, and discussion has not resolved the issue. Protection would help stabilize the page for constructive discussion (Talk Page as recommended to the said user). Metamentalist (talk) 08:32, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Declined They are autoconfirmed, so I don't see why semi would help here. I also think it's a content dispute. I've applied CRR temporarily as a page restriction since it's a CT area. --qedk (t c) 10:33, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: High level of vandalism and warring about awards, editing back and forth by fans of other artists JKHungary (talk) 11:48, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing, harassment and sockpuppetry. Kajmer05 (talk) 11:49, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: There have been a total of 16 reverted edits of IP addresses and newly registered users with little to no edit history since the previous page protection expired a little more than a year ago, so I am requesting that the page is protected yet again due to persistent disruptive editing. Turaids (talk) 12:10, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Persistant vandalisme on the page, we request a protection from all continues modifications. Retriverbeyonde (talk) 13:44, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: It has been 11 years since this page was semi protected. The tournament itself held 15 years ago, so I don't think the page will be very popular or vandalized. Also, articles about the next two editions—2014 FIFA World Cup & 2018 FIFA World Cup—are not protected. Therefore, I suggest we cn try to remove the protection and see what happened. Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

I would like to request that The neutral source mentioned in casualities and losses on Indian side isn't credible enough, the author seems to b referring to Pakistan's initial claims of 5 indian aircrafts shot down which has been challenged around globe due to lack of evidence. Other sources like Washington post and Reuters claims atleast 2 indian jets shot down which is in line with the wider neutral international narrative and evidence present. Hence, I would request to change the claims in the section and cite these sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PrinceVK5 (talkcontribs) 04:44, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I want to create a new article or subtopic, labelled, "History of Fraud". The reason that I want to do this, is because according to the legal definition of securities fraud, Elon Musk has done exactly that. For example, the 420 funding secured tweet, met the threshold for securities fraud per the Federal Judge overseeing the trial: "No reasonable jury could find that Mr. Musk did not act recklessly given his clear knowledge of the discussions," the judge added. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/court-says-musk-recklessly-tweeted-that-funding-secured-taking-tesla-private-2022-05-11/

The entire reason that the 420 funding secured tweet was made, was for one purpose. To cause short sellers to lose money. Elon Musk had been threatening them for literally months. When he did that, short sellers lost billions of dollars. The only way to manipulate the stock price was to make a knowingly false statement, and Tesla at the time was about 6 weeks from bankruptcy unless they ramped the Model 3.

None of this is documented in his wikipedia page - in fact, the 420 tweet is a literal footnote. For example, saying every single year "I really believe that later this year we'll have Full Self Driving robotaxis" to pump a stock price and keep it elevated is securities fraud. Why does he do this? If tesla has an elevated stock price, he can pay people with stock because the company itself has no cash flows. the Q4 2023 increase in net income was fraud. That's been extensively covered, etc, etc. Editor111111112 (talk) 18:27, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Recklessness does not equate to fraud (which has to be deliberate), and it is not our place to impute motive where others have declined to do so. We cannot, and will not, entertain this particular edit barring much more compelling sources explicitly calling Musk's actions fraud. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 19:17, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
