Wikipedia:Requests for page protection
![]() | This page has an administrative backlog that requires the attention of willing administrators. Please replace this notice with {{no admin backlog}} when the backlog is cleared. |
Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level
Request a specific edit to a protected page

Current requests for increase in protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or, failing that, the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – The edit warring here continues. Perhaps implement a higher level of restriction for a month as her album is released today. Karst (talk) 08:49, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
- Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection for one or more pages in this request was recently made, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 08:58, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Persistent vandalism of the page related to indigenous culture and content. Repeated disruptive editing, especially from anonymous users. Requesting semi-protection or extended confirmed protection to maintain page integrity. Titi7000 (talk) 12:42, 6 June 2025 (UTC) [1]. [2]

Automated comment: @Titi7000: This request cannot be parsed. Please ensure it follows formatting consistent with the current or previous methods of submission.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 12:45, 6 June 2025 (UTC)- I fixed the link at the top of the section, but no comment on the request. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 18:51, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Requesting semi protection. Lot of IP edits on content dispute especially with bio. Only requesting a brief protection due to the NYC primary approaching and more media coverage. Malibukenz (talk) 14:44, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Like fellow redirect That's Entertainment (Hazbin Hotel), keeps being recreated by sock- and meatpuppeteer. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 02:23, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Per WP:RUSUKR: Only extended-confirmed editors may make edits related to the topic area
. Many edits are in violation of this policy, so it appears that protection is necessary. Yours truly, Stuffinwriting | talk | sign | contributions 04:49, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Edit warring again, previously involving another user, now with IP, the same involved editor, looks to be exhibiting ownership issues and that other is always wrong, they're always right. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 10:55, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – The page has been consistently vandalized by IP users, adding and removing things back and forth (might be the same person) for a long time now, as can be seen throughout the history. Jovanmilic97 (talk) 15:43, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite semi-protection: Contentious topic restriction. Dahawk04 (talk) 18:18, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection for one or more pages in this request was recently made, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 18:25, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement – Years' worth of additions of completely unsourced material (or additions of retired equipment, beyond the article's WP:SCOPE). The article is covered by WP:ARBEE and was semi-protected in the past. Amanuensis Balkanicus (talk) 18:47, 7 June 2025 (UTC). Amanuensis Balkanicus (talk) 18:47, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary extended protection: Persistent trolling by bigots. Cremastra (Go Oilers!) 20:55, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent addition of unsourced or poorly sourced content – IP (possibly a range) repeatedly adding unsourced content. DonIago (talk) 03:59, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Persistent unreferenced edits from IP users. Hotwiki (talk) 03:59, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Kiran Rathod page vandalism
The article Kiran Rathod has recently been subject to repeated malicious edits, falsely labeling her as an adult actress without reliable sources. Some of the content given in the page is also false and I have the consent of the person in subject to raise this issue of maligning, misinformation and labelling her.This violates Wikipedia's BLP (Biographies of Living Persons) policy.
I request semi-protection to prevent further vandalism and defamation. See the edit history for examples.
Thank you. Bharath75 (talk) 05:13, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Yuvaank (talk) 07:34, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
- Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection for one or more pages in this request was recently made, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 07:49, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Vandalism and edit war. Please long semiprotection needed. Island92 (talk) 09:21, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection (for at least 6 months): Months-long campaign by some unregistered users and possible single-purpose accounts to remove some well-sourced information. The edits rise to the level of vandalism when they subtly rearrange text to bury the fact that they're removing sourced information, while using misleading edit summaries. The accounts may be connected but declared no conflicts of interest. Nemo 11:57, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IPs keep adding unnecessary flags. Vestrian24Bio 14:50, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent disruptive editing by anonymous editors. livelikemusic (TALK!) 15:05, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – IP/new editor disruption. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 15:20, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: I only needed 2 edits to "Move" this article but I cannot since there are no more edits needed. Fzmwml (talk) 15:23, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Courtesy link: User:Fzmwml/sandbox
- @Fzmwml: This account has three edits to its name; you need a minimum of ten. And attempting to move it into mainspace would just lead to it getting kicked back to draft. We don't cite Wikipedia, and this pages goes off on irrelevant tangents in the text proper. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 15:26, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Repeated IP vandalism Pemilligan (talk) 15:42, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism from multiple IPs. h a j (talk) 16:28, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
- +1 Lots of vandalism lately, probably one person IP hopping. Entranced98 (talk) 16:49, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Temporary semi-protection. Disruptive editing from an IP hopper. Barry Wom (talk) 17:28, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Persistent sockpuppetry and insertion of disinformation by multiple accounts and IP addresses. LHistorienKurde (talk) 17:50, 8 June 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – same vandalism resumed after last protection expired. -- D'n'B-📞 -- 18:19, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: High level of IP vandalism and disruptive editing since 4th June. Kwesi Yema (talk) 18:30, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IP editors aggressively edit warring false / unsourced information into the article. MrOllie (talk) 19:21, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 19:45, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Rubah Hitam Vukova (talk) 19:46, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing/genres warring form anonymous users that don't agree with the sourced genres and keep changing them to suit their own opinion. This page has been protected before because of this same issue and now that it is not protected, the disruptive editing is picking up again. It's likely the same person just with a different IP. Warnings don't work because they just keep edit warring and personally attacking me. Since it's coming from a couple different IPs, blocking likely won't help. Bowling is life (talk) 20:21, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Indefinite pending changes: Persistent disruptive editing – Persistent additions of non-notable list entries. Referentis (talk) 20:23, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: High level of vandalism in the past. Has been subject to doxxing and online abuse. Concerned about page being vandalised again. Indianoceancow (talk) 21:11, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Edit warring from rotating IPs to add promotion of nonnotable individuals. MrOllie (talk) 22:05, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Temporary pending changes protection: Edit warring / content dispute. One user edited, most editors disagree, repeat. ExplorerofSpace (talk) 22:21, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Persistent sockpuppetry. Vincent Lefèvre (talk) 22:53, 8 June 2025 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: Unprotection: This article has been semi-protected since 2007. I doubt this very low-profile article will be the target of a lot of disruption after nearly 18 years have past, having seen only 9 edits from 2020 to 2025 and a whopping 941 views in the past year (see here). The protecting administrator hasn't been active since 2012. This also doesn't fall under WP:CT/A-I, despite the context subject. BriDash9000 (talk) 17:20, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- @BriDash9000: I disagree that it's unrelated to A-I, considering the event he wants to build a monument to commemorate is unambiguously in that topic area. If anything this page's protection level needs elevated to XCP as well. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 15:23, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
- Then why do I not see a Contentious topic notice stating that this may be related to the conflict on the article's talk page? BriDash9000 (talk) 17:25, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Not unprotected – Talk page notice is now in place. I'm not inclined to increase the protection level preemptively, but it will be done if necessary. Favonian (talk) 19:00, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: Unprotection: This article has been semi-protected since 2008 due to apparent sockpuppetry (from this banned user, I suppose). The first Madagascar film was also semi-protected that day for the same reason, but had since been unprotected in 2018. As the first film gains more than twice the amount of views than this one in the past year (see here), doesn't see really much disruptive activity right now, and that sockpuppeteer primarily targeting on Disney articles, perhaps it's time to test whether long-term protection is still needed? The protecting administrator has long retired since 2010. BriDash9000 (talk) 10:40, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: For the talk page, Can you reduce protection to allow me to introduce a viability for a new article on "Operation Sindoor" as this was one of the dedicated operations launched by India like that of Operation Trident and Operation Python. Atleast to open a discussion round to seek its possibility Navaneeth822 (talk) 16:31, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Navaneeth822: Try requesting at WP:RFPP/E to have someone make the thread for you. The page isn't likely to be unprotected anytime soon given the disruption by partisan editors. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 16:43, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Reason: The current semi-protection is obstructing policy-compliant corrections to the lead section, which contains multiple violations of WP:NPOV and WP:V. These include:
- A misrepresentation of the Balfour Declaration as "explicitly privileging" Jewish settlers (contradicted by the actual text). - An anachronistic and unbalanced assertion that Zionists sought "as few Palestinian Arabs as possible," which is not found in any mainstream or foundational Zionist source. - Omission of the fact that Israel, in accordance with the Balfour Declaration and UNGA Resolution 181, granted full citizenship to all individuals residing within its borders in 1948–52. - Use of the term "Palestinians" in the pre-1948 context without historical clarification, implying a national identity not in general use at the time.
I have posted a detailed, sourced, and policy-grounded edit proposal on the article’s Talk page here: → Talk:Zionism#Request for edit of lead section (policy-based corrections)
Page protection should not be used to shield biased or noncompliant content from correction. Please either temporarily lift the protection or initiate administrative review of the lead section. Utalempe (talk) 19:12, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Not done – Thank you for making an edit request. The article talk page is where the matter will be settled. The protection is imposed as an arbitatration enforcement and cannot be lifted by application to this notice board. Favonian (talk) 19:24, 8 June 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
