Requests for page protection

Current requests for increase in protection level

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or, failing that, the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Extended confirmed protection: Arbitration enforcement. EatingCarBatteries (contributions, talk) 03:19, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Several editors seem to be warring over vandalism. 49ersBelongInSanFrancisco (talk) 05:57, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Content Dispute/Edit Warring. I think it is a edit warring by IP Addresses. They editing the Biniverse World Tour 2025 and SB19's Simula at Wakas World Tour. They're editing the attendance of two concerts, however, Simula at Wakas World Tour didn't stated how many attendees are and they're editing without a verifiable sources and ignoring the hidden note. Reason: Please fully protect this page as anonymous users have been repeatedly editing and adding personal information, including the spouse's name, which the concerned individual does not wish to be publicly available. This is a serious privacy concern, and I respectfully request that the spouse’s name be removed from the page and that fully protection measures be applied to prevent further unauthorized edits. 164.100.26.108 (talk) 10:23, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Indefinite template protection: Contentious topic restriction. ARBPIA, high-risk template RaschenTechner (talk) 12:48, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

It only has 126 transclusions (according to the template count), so wouldn't extended-confirmed be more appropriate? - OpalYosutebitotalk』 『articles I want to eat』 20:33, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Reason: High level of IP vandalism. Many films listed on the page were not worked on by Hans Zimmer. For example, The Avengers, Forrest Gump, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Despicable Me. etc. Looks like at least dozens of incorrect entries, which I believe is too many to be a simple mistake. The vandalism seems to exist across many different revisions from various IPs, which makes it difficult to revert the vandalism without reviewing the entire page. Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

  • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
  • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
  • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
  • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Presumably the IP intends to nominate this and the below for deletion based on their other edits. But that doesn't require an unprotection; they can just request that the TfD tag be added using {{edit template-protected}}. Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

  • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
  • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
  • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
  • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
  • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

The Israeli casaulties have changed over the night with new Iranian strikes. I want to change the Current Casaulties from 24 Killed to 53, i have the sources needed. And to change the 2,345 injured to 2,585 injured for which i also have sources. Pkk123477 (talk) 18:53, 19 June 2025 (UTC)

  •  On hold: Hello, Pkk123477. Your edit request has been restored here as we need further input on this, as initially requested by Behappyyar. Would you be willing to post the sources that you have so that they can be reviewed and used to update the article? --Super Goku V (talk) 21:09, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

The statement that : "9,000+ Israeli civilians displaced" and "8,000+ Israeli civilians homeless" at the bottom of the "Casualties and losses" panel is misinformation by omission. Civilian infrastructure was also destroyed in Iran (example https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/6/13/shock-fear-in-tehran-after-israel-bombs-residential-military-areas) and I think we should either remove the statement about Israeli civilians, or add one for Iranian civilians in case any estimate exists. Otherwise it makes it sound only Iran targeted civilian infrastructure. Chalchiutlicue (talk) 12:56, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

I agree that we should include both. Do you have a source for those displaced or homeless in Iran, Chalchiutlicue? --Super Goku V (talk) 12:40, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Add 12 day war in the lead Iran-Israel war (also known as the 12 day war):

I am not personally in favor of this name for the war since it could flare up after a while but there is enough reliable sources that are using it to the point where it's an alternative name - it's definitely not Common name atm

Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

I've been here for almost two decades, with 30k+ edits and a fair number of articles created in the mean time. I believe I am well-qualified for autopatrolled perms. _dk (talk) 23:50, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Based upon my learning and experience over the years of editing on Wikipedia (almost a decade now), I have created very selected pages which I find qualifying Wikipedia policies. If I find them trending in news but un-complying with the policies, I usually leave a redirect, or occasionally start with the draft. I believe not a single page that I created and/or majorly contributed has been deleted, and many respected editors and admins whom I had interacted with have always been helpful and supportive, believing in my good faith. Plus I only rewrite those articles in bad state which I find relevant, and not every other random article. However, due to recent attacks by sock puppetry over my edits, I want to be an autopatrolled user, so that I can easily continue volunteering independently here, and participate in the ongoing Destubathon as well. I promise I will not misuse this position. Thank you! M. Billoo 13:24, 19 June 2025 (UTC)

As of writing, I have created more than 50 articles from either redlinks or expanded redirects alongside ~30 templates, with only one superfluous template having been deleted. With a dozen Good Article and DYK citations, I believe I have proven myself in understanding the fomat and style of Wikipedia. My current project, to create articles on US Civil War-era ship classes, has and will quickly add more to the backlog. I have never had any issue with the New Page Patrol (that I recall), and would like to not add to their work as several of my previous articles/templates took months to be marked as reviewed (quite understandable, it's a large backlog!). My newest articles, all created since this weekend, (Mohican-class sloop, Sacramento-class sloop, Algoma-class sloop, and Potomac-class frigate) are well cited and comply with all requirments. Thank you! GGOTCC 02:32, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

You might want to go back to the Potomac-class frigate article and address the referencing errors that show up, GGOTCC. Schwede66 03:45, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
Done Upon a closer look, I see that those errors were introduced by an AWB run by Rich Smith. Schwede66 03:49, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
@Schwede66: and @GGOTCC:, sorry about that. Basically the cite errors appears as AWB converts 'others' to 'author', which cite book doesn't like as you should either have a first and last name OR an author. There is no need to put 'Internet Archive' there, so I've just removed it which resolved the error. - RichT|C|E-Mail 09:18, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
These things do happen with AWB runs. Stuff like that has happened to me too. It shouldn’t because one should check, but it does. I pinged you to (a) make you aware of it for future runs, and (b) because I thought you might want to go back over those edits. Great to hear that you are applying a fix, Rich Smith. Schwede66 10:30, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you to the both of you! My bad with the reference, I thought that was meant for the provider, oops. GGOTCC 01:15, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
Requests for AutoWikiBrowser access

AutoWikiBrowser

Hello, I would like to use the editor mainly to have access to backreferences for editing using regular expressions. My actual use case would be to make a 300-line table sortable by last name. Work with data would also be useful. I also would like to be able to speed up formatting more generally, e.g. italics, quote marks, etc. Selbsportrait (talk) 22:27, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

I'm back again! I previously requested this to help with WP:POSTMOVE for links to Guna language (then withdrew that request), but since then I've realised there are a few areas I could use this tool in, not least for updating non-linked uses of "Kuna" and "Cuna" for Guna language and Guna people (of which there seem to be quite a lot). I might also use it for linking/redlinking new articles (for instance, some of the drafts I'm currently working on), and also to help out with updating some of the 90,000+ articles transcluding (the now-deprecated) Template:EngvarB to other English-variety templates. Obviously there might also be some typo correction etc. as required. Pineapple Storage (talk) 17:03, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Requests for confirmation

Confirmed

Reason for requesting confirmed rights

I've made an account called Webster Geneva Campus in order to move the page Webster University Geneva to Webster Geneva Campus. Reason for this move is a legal matter. Webster University Geneva is not allowed to use word "University" in Switzerland, where it is based. This is due to restrictions imposed to foreign Universities. Therefore we need to rename the Wiki page to Webster Geneva Campus.

due to legal aspect of this change, it is a rather urgent matter. It would be greatly appreciated to obtain the confirmed status so I can make his change asap. Webster Geneva Campus (talk) 12:00, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Note: This user has been renamed Dusan Petkovic at Webster. (Non-administrator comment) CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 12:49, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
Not done Aside from the conflict of interest issue meaning you shouldn't be making that change yourself, there are routes to requesting pages be moved for you. stwalkerster (talk) 13:00, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
Requests for extended confirmation

Extended confirmed

Hi there,

I'd like to request permission to add an English translation of a Wikipedia article I originally created (title: "Ukraine Art Aid Center" - currently available in Ukrainian and German). The article is about the organization I work for. The content has been reviewed and approved by our steering committee. I'm happy to provide any additional confirmations if needed.

Just a bit of background: I hold an MA in linguistics (English and German, Ivan Franko University in Lviv, Ukraine), completed a second MA program in English at a German university, and have over 10 years of experience working in English in areas like international development, cultural heritage, and cultural emergency response.

For the past couple of months, I’ve been trying to find a more experienced Wikipedia editor to help publish the English version of the article, but unfortunately haven’t had any luck. I’d be really grateful for the chance to publish it myself, as it would help raise awareness of our organization and support the important work we’re doing.

Thanks in advance for considering my request. I’m looking forward to your reply.

Warm regards, Vira Orlovska Vira Orlovska (talk) 11:58, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Not done. You should create the translation in the Draft namespace and submit it for review. You don't need this user group to create a page in the Draft namespace. We don't really care that the content has been approved by your organisation as we're generally not interested in what an organisation has to say about itself - we're interested in summarising what other people have to say about the organisation. You will also need to disclose your connection to the organisation per the instructions on that page to comply with our Terms of Use. stwalkerster (talk) 15:30, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Reason for requesting extended confirmed rights

My EC/XC status was suspended with extended conformed restriction due to a mistake in Special:Diff/1296492089. The status was removed by Star Mississippi, who said that I was welcome to reapply, after explaining myself, especially contradicting that I had won my status through gaming. After checking my editorial history, there was general agreement in the discussion that that was not the case. The discussion is located in: Jensenjan and WP:XC WP:GAMING I am now more careful with unintentionally wading into sensitive subjects and I continue to edit less controversial entries.I respectfully ask to have my EC/XC status reinstalled. Jensenjan (talk) 11:07, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Automated comment This user has had this permission revoked in the past 180 days ([2]). MusikBot talk 11:10, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
This request should be declined. The claim "After checking my editorial history, there was general agreement in the discussion that that was not the case." is not consistent with the contents of the noticeboard discussion at WP:ANI § Jensenjan and WP:XC WP:GAMING. The editor who encouraged Jensenjan to reapply for this permission shortly after it was revoked gave poor advice, as they have also engaged in permission gaming. — Newslinger talk 18:28, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
Actually, as the discussion WP:ANI § LordDiscord's gaming of the extended confirmed permission concluded that the other editor was not permission gaming, I withdraw my opposition and now support Jensenjan's request for the extended confirmed permission. I do believe Jensenjan was editing in good faith, and the community has established that small edits, when constructive, do count toward the threshold for obtaining extended confirmed. — Newslinger talk 20:13, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Requests for new page reviewer

New page reviewer

Hi, I'm requesting rights be extended after a one month trial. I would like to request permanent NPR rights if possible, as I have greatly enjoyed contributing in this capacity and I am eager to help reduce the backlog. Thanks! Halley luv Filipino ❤ (Talk) 00:23, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

I'm a patroller on the Hebrew Wikipedia with extensive experience in content review and Wikipedia policies. I am also familiar with English Wikipedia's guidelines and have been actively participating here, including contributing to article creation and quality control processes. I would like to contribute to New Page Patrol, mainly on topics related to Israel, Judaism, and Hungary, and I would be happy to expand my knowledge and activity into additional areas. NPR temporary permissions set to expire within a week. Requesting extension or permanent permissions. I have not been as active in the NPR space as I'd like to be, being very busy with the AfC Backlog Drive. Regardless, thank you for your time! MWFwiki (talk) 21:23, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

Hi there, my rights expire on the 30th and I would like to request an extension. I did ask a few weeks ago since I know of the perennial backlog here, but got rejected on the basis it was too early. I'm reapplying now since it's a little under a week until that happens. Aydoh8[what have I done now?] 23:34, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

I was granted reviewer rights for two times, both were temporary. I'm here requesting the right again to review the articles and make the burden less for others too. I was not active like before due to some personal issues, but I'm going to be active now. Please consider extending my rights. Thankyou Taabii (talk) 17:23, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello there, this is my third time requesting new page reviewer permissions, as the previous two requests were granted on a one-month trial basis and the current trial will end on the 30th of June. I have learnt a lot about the policies for notability and inclusion and will be able to reduce the size of the unreviewed pages backlog significantly. Requests for page mover

Page mover

I am requesting page mover right mainly because it would help me draftify articles (see my draftify log). And secondarily because it would allow me to perform uncontroversial moves in mainspace without leaving being redirects. I have not participated in RMs but I have made moves that show that I understand the guidelines, namely:

Pending changes reviewer

This is my third application. I believe that I have enough experience and that with the help of Twinkle, I could throw a "ROLLBACK" command and thwart the vandals. Thank you, Starfall2015 chat | about me 06:14, 14 June 2025 (UTC)

This is a request for WP:PCR, not WP:ROLLBACK. Did you apply for the correct permission? HouseBlaster (talk • he/they) 21:08, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
I did, but I have Twinkle and RedWarn. What really irritates me is that there are often about 10 changes but I can only revert them. Starfall2015 let's talk profile 15:50, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello! When checking my watchlist of frequently-vandalized articles or patrolling recent changes, I frequently work with articles which have pending changes. When there's obvious vandalism or a BLP issue I can already help out by reverting, but I'm requesting the reviewer role so I can approve any non-bad edit I come across -- ones which I've always had to simply ignore as false positives. I've checked out WP:PC and WP:RPC to familiarize myself with the policies and guidelines around recent changes and the expectations of reviewers. I appreciate your consideration :) — tony 15:55, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

I may make mistakes, but we all grw from them. The reason why I want to be a pending changes reviewer is so that I can approve edits that are not inline with Wikipedia's rules. I think that, since I'll become extended-confirm soon, it's time to request this permission again. PawPatroler (talk) 23:33, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

Not done. This is your third request for PCR inside two weeks. Please slow down, stop requesting permissions, and heed the advice that has been given to you; not least the final warning that was issued to you last week. Giraffer (talk) 23:24, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

I typically review edits on articles in my watchlist that are not flagged with the pending function so I am glad to help out with those also. I meet the requirements and have the experience as I already follow a similar procedure to the description in the required reading. Thanks, Adflatusstalk 14:05, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Requests for rollback

Rollback

Hello! I'm reaching out to request rollback rights so I can tackle vandalism more effectively. I've been actively patrolling recent changes and using Twinkle to revert vandalism, and I'd also like to try using Huggle which requires rollback permissions.

I get that rollback is a fast-paced tool meant for clear cases of vandalism or unconstructive edits, and I'm well-versed in the relevant policies and guidelines.

Thanks for considering my request! Igor123121 (talk) 08:38, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

Done Malinaccier (talk) 15:54, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

I kindly request for Full Rollback Priviledges I was recently denied because of my poor quality to warn victim editors on their talk pages. I took that as a lesson and have improved on that rapidly quick. (Together with advice from 2 other loyal editors). But Please (Begging you) I really need these priviledges as I have read the advantages favor my abilities to warn editors Accurately Fast compared to The Default manual revert which is really delaying and a struggle. I recently attempted using the Twinkle Tool but it ruins the website's performance on my side (not sure why). Article modifications are coming in with blazing speed almost every milli-second. And the Default Manual Revert slows me down horribly. And victims may succeed in leaving damaged content on articles and other platforms, As Not every vandalism Fighter seems to be always online as much as I am now.

Please grant me the priviledges. It would be a pleasure to protect Wikipedia into being a safe, decent, and clean community. You have my word. I will Never let you down sir/ma'am. Criticize (talk) 09:19, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

@Criticize There's no point making a new request, when your previous request was declined so soon. It hasn't even been archived yet! Please wait atleast 2 weeks before making a new request. Begging rights like that would be considered Hat collecting There are plenty of other tools out there. Twinkle is not the only tool. In fact rollback is actually worse compared to other tools, when it comes to reverting. If you contribute using a desktop, you can also try RedWarn, or it's successor Ultraviolet. Cheers! OPHYRIUS 09:00, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
@Ophyrius
I strictly take back the begging and pleading part! I was indeed desperate yesterday.
Funny you now say rollback is worse. (Not sure if I can believe you)
Just this morning I coded a python update to a script entry I took from the anti-vandal tool. And it shockingly improved the speed of the manual revert method efficiently on my side.
And reduced time to auto warn editors, with customizable settings.
Not sure if I should come back to make another request. But I certainly will if i'm interested.
However, I still have this burning desire to help Wikipedia, and it can't be stopped.
Have a good day. Criticize (talk) 09:43, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
I'm saying that as I personally have used it & I find other tools better. I used that permission for other tools like Antivandal & SWViewer OPHYRIUS 11:17, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

I am respectfully requesting rollback rights as I am committed to upholding the quality and reliability of Wikipedia by actively monitoring recent changes and promptly reverting vandalism and unconstructive edits. Having familiarized myself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, I believe that the rollback tool will allow me to more efficiently contribute to the maintenance of article integrity and the overall improvement of the encyclopedia. Hello. I saw that rollbackers need 200+ edits and noticed that I've cleared that mark so here is my request:

I have been actively reverting vandalism via WP:RW and filters. I apply an adequate edit summary and warn for every single rollback I make using RedWarn. I understand clearly that rollback is for cases of clear-cut vandalism and other edits where the reason for the revert is obvious (such as uncited defamatory statements on a living person).

Whenever I encounter a good-faith yet low-quality edit, I either leave it be or undo it with a suitable custom edit summary (and a talkpage message explaining why the edit was reverted). Having this user right would allow me to try out Huggle which I believe would be more efficient than RedWarn's RC patrol or refreshing the browser. Thank you. (Non-administrator comment) well, the 200 mainspace edits aren't an absolute requirement, and I've seen you doing good work at WP:RC enough to vouch for you. PS: you can use this tool to check your edits on separate namespaces. Good luck! Regards, — DVRTed (Talk) 05:19, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
Thanks. I actually have 200 edits now. Spotemgottem (talk) 23:40, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I've had several months of experience patrolling recent changes and clearing vandalism. In addition, I often revert sockpuppet edits. I therefore humbly request for the rollback right so that reverting obvious vandalism and sockpuppet/LTA edits (such as by using mass rollback) would be easier. I've read through WP:Rollback thoroughly as well. I understand that for the usual rollback, I need to try to use it with caution as it performs reverts in just one click/tap. Thank you. ~SG5536B 01:56, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
